Exactly! You guys are misreading this. If he were really going to Vegas, he'd just lie and say "no I'm not" to put it to bed. He's not going to Vegas, he's just putting this out there so Louisville will tell him how great he is and beg him to stay. Why doesn't he just lie? Not like he's unaccustomed to the practice.
He gone
He's too honorable to do that. (dws)Is it out of the question that he started the rumor himself?
Winner. It is useful leverage for Pitino who is obviously in a precarious position so he needs any tiny piece of leverage he can get.
Ben...Pitino jr. is in trouble at Minnesota they are looking to replace him..Maybe Daddy takes him to Vegas in a package deal. You are right, he cannot tell the truth, and everybody knows it. That is why he wouldn't deny the rumor about UNLV. If he had, everyone would know that he is leaving.
Minnesota is not looking to replace Pitino yet. They aren't even close to having a new AD in place. The cost of his buyout and a good 2016 recruiting class is probably saving his job. If his team doesn't show significant improvement next year, I think it will be a whole different story.Ben...Pitino jr. is in trouble at Minnesota they are looking to replace him..Maybe Daddy takes him to Vegas in a package deal.
ding, effin, ding...winner, winner-chicken dinnerExactly! You guys are misreading this. If he were really going to Vegas, he'd just lie and say "no I'm not" to put it to bed. He's not going to Vegas, he's just putting this out there so Louisville will tell him how great he is and beg him to stay.
He doesn't want this to go away, he wants to keep the story going. His answer today did just that....

Pitino Jr. addressed the "Rick to UNLV" rumors and said he would not want to raise his children in Las Vegas. He also said he doesn't want to work for his dad again. (They didn't ask him though, "what if that's the best job offer you have after getting fired?"....) His responses certainly didn't shoot down the rumors of Rick considering the job.
might be his way to make UofL think he's still valuable
UNLV being the hotbed of college hoops n all
yeah...he could be best friends with Wayne Newton - get the name of his plastic surgeonI dunno. Vegas frankly seems like a Pitino kinda place.
Pretty simple, they have a contract in place for a certain rate of pay for a certain amount of time. If they want out of the contract, they owe a certain amount. How is that hard to follow?Speaking of buyouts, I think they are the most ridiculous concept in the world. I wish so much that I could do my job so poorly that my clients would pay me millions to go away. I mean seriously, how is this even a thing???
My personal belief is that Pitino will resign at the end of the season, but wants it to look like he's still in demand. That way (in his mind) he can go out with a little dignity.
Bingo. Give this man a cigar.Exactly! You guys are misreading this. If he were really going to Vegas, he'd just lie and say "no I'm not" to put it to bed. He's not going to Vegas, he's just putting this out there so Louisville will tell him how great he is and beg him to stay.

You resign before you get fired.Honest question, why would he resign? His bosses don't give a flip what he does and why would he walk away from millions of dollars? He has no integrity, we all know that, so walking away out of shame is out of the question. The only way he resigns is if Ramsey and/or Jurich go and they bring in a President who says enough is enough.
You're right that he wants to look like he's still in demand.
