Has there ever in the history of sports ever been a coach with less respect from his players?

Four or five years of strippers and prostitution and not a single player, recruit, or parent (those involved in the events) ever, even once, thought enough of the head coach to give him a head's up?

Let that sink in. No one.

Not a single person thought enough of Rick to think he may care.

Or was it that they thought he would care, but didn't care enough about him to tell him.

That is an astonishingly deep display of no respect for Mr. Pitino.

I'd take it further. I'd say no other coaches respect him. Most will not publicly say it, but privately they have to be tearing him up. RP did not help his image or cause with his presser yesterday.

I have thought all along that Pitino couldn't possibly have known what was going on and allowed it to continue, but that is becoming a more tenuous position after the revelation that an assistant coach openly, without reservation, in front of the entire team blamed a poor practice on them having strippers in the dorm all night. That certainly gives the impression that it wasn't exactly a state secret.

If they had those parties once or twice or just a small number of times more then I guess you could make a reasonable argument Pitino couldn't have known. But this went on for 4 years ON CAMPUS and it's a known fact how much of a control freak Pitino is. Plus someone besides Andre McGee had to be the money man for the parties. Plenty of people knew what was going on. Also there's Pitino's own personal background which is fair to consider. It shouldn't shock anyone if he knew but didn't stop any of this from happening.

If the new board won't make changes, maybe the governor will step in and do a cleanup.

The sad part about everything that is unfolding is that he was once at the top of the coaching world. It's sad really. I will always appreciate what he did for our program...the right man for the right job at the right time. He was given the oportunity and ran with it. Got a little bit full of himself. But after the Celtics gig, it's been a fast slide on a greased pole. Once again, sad.

If he knew or found out, what would he have done? Turned himself and Louisville in to the NCAA? Some would, but not him. So best course of action was distance himself from it and look clean since it eventually would bring them down.
