Pitino and the draft

That's another big difference between him and Cal. Our coach will be there for his players, giving them a hug, talking with the families and generally cheering on his players. Pitino, on the other hand, is a no show and basically shuns his players. How anyone would want to play for this man is beyond me.

Cal went out of his way to be there, traveling from camp to Brooklyn.

What is the procedure for entrance to green room?
Players are invited.........
Family as players guest..
What about coaches? Are they NBA guests,
players' guest, or party crashers?

He thought he had Mitchell trapped for three years, at least. King must be worried that Rick will place him on the bench next year, too. Antwan Walker did not see significant minutes until the end of his frosh year. Under Cal, Walker would have been OAD and playing big minutes all season long. Rick likes to shackle his players into his system and then claim he developed them.

This is the coach that immediately went to the media and tried to tarnish Mitchell's draft stock when he declared. I was almost happy to see Mitchell go lotto for yet another example of how big of a self serving douchebag Slick is.

He was gearin up for his next gig...

This.

He convinced Montrezl to try and be a top-8 draft pick when he was already projected around 12-15. He came back and then dropped to the 2nd round the next year.

There were times in 2016 when Mitchell was clearly the best player on the team. But Rick knew if he played him as much as he deserved then the NBA would salivate over his potential.

He did the same thing with King this last year although I can't say he was ever one of the top players. It's definitely a trend with Rick to hold guys back.

Pitino said publicly that he wanted him back......he's selfish while Cal tells his guys to go.
