I doubt anyone noticed I didn't post much the last few weeks. My tournament this year literally started off with an early morning ER trip (hadn't seen a Doc in over a decade). So, four failed catheter attempts and a brief bit under in the OR, I got sent home with a little bag to wear for a few weeks. I fought through the discomfort and razzing from buddies, but got through it. But only to find out some pretty bad news the same day the Doc told me I was good to go. The daughter (and a good friend) of the small town church pastor I grew up with had died. She was 34, and basically family. One of those things that lights your Facebook up and folks start texting. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, just want to put a UNCheat tournament loss, Higgins, etc in perspective. It's a game folks. Even if we get screwed, it's just on the court, not in life.

Agreed. My mom died early Friday morning so this years EE was hard for me to get too fired up about. Games are just a distraction for real life.

I found myself wondering how many Cats fans were going through real life things as we all complained about seeding, refs, Higgins, etc. I'm sorry for your loss. Haven't lost my mother, but sure it's surreal and difficult.

My mom died last year right after the SEC Tournament. I don't know if I would quite go as far as to say I was a "momma's boy" and she'd scold me pretty hard for not calling and visiting enough, but I loved her with all my heart.

We were playing Texas A&M the day before she died, and her neurologist and I-who bless his heart- was sitting with me by her bedside, ran out and the lobby and watched the game in the waiting room whenever other family would stop by. I don't know if that makes me a bad son or not..but I hope no one ever accuses me of not being a fan, or not loving the Cats.
