I know last night stunk and isn't going to be easy to get over but looking at how Florida is playing, seems like having a shot at the win and only losing by a touchdown isn't all that bad. They absolutely smoked Ole Miss and look to be legit. My room for positive take away from our first five games or is all just doom and gloom and time to get ready for basketball?

Some of the posts here are deliberately d & g just to get any focus off FB & onto hoops. That or pure stupidity.

You can just leave and never come back. We won't miss you at all.

Who pissed in your Cheerios? Not real sure what I might have done to provoke that response. Feel free to elaborate tough guy.

I'm excited that we're 4-1 for the less literate out there. My post was stating that the loss to Florida doesn't look so bad now considering how well they have played since we faced them.

I'm interested to see how FL does the rest of the season. That game last night made no sense. FL has not really played well at all this season, with the immense exception of last night. Grier needs to get the flu more often if that is how he plays the weekend after. It's not shocking to me that a Saban disciple can coach, and will do great things at FL..but no one saw them at 5-0 in his first season.

Grier is growing up and the young OL is getting better. Defense has always been good. That was a total ass whooping they gave OM last night,on both sides of he ball. Plus, they finally have a head coach that understands offense, after the Muschamp debacle. With all the skill guys in that state, that is scary for the future. Im afraid this year was our chance to get them. May be awhile now.

Next 2 games for the Gators, at Mizzou, and at LSU. We shall see what happens, even if they split those games, that would be a huge feather in their cap !!

Everyone says that this year was the year to get them. But now we can see they are better than we thought...and who knows, maybe we get them next year, or the year after. We will certainly be getting better too.

I agree TNT. We've played them close the last two years and keep stocking up on talent. No reason to think we can't continue to hang tight and might sneak in a victory at some point soon. Fingers crossed here. Love to see us take them and Georgia down in the next couple of years.

-UK is getting better as a program...takes time.

-for once I cant wait for bball season to start...give the raftards something to do and they wont clutter up the board. In that spirit isn't there some 15yo aau player some of them can stalk on twitter for a while?

Florida is just displaying how pairing up good talent with good coaching works. They are a good team, even when they were down, they still recruited really well. Far better than we have for the most part. They needed an adjustment period to new coaches and a new system. they seem to be rounding into form. They will be tough to beat from here on out.

We aren't ever going to win the SEC going undefeated. if we ever want to make it to Atlanta we will probably have to go the Missouri route and get some help from some other teams and a favorable schedule. Give us the schedule we have now next year or the year after that and we have a shot. We are 4-1 now and I'm certainly not giving up hope that the planets might align and we manage to squeak our way into Atlanta. It all has to start on the 15th though, we have to take advantage and come to play balls to the wall against Auburn.

Another embarrassing post. If you don't like basketball...fine. Just shut up about it though as you know nothing about it. You football only types are just as embarrassing to me as a true intelligent UK fan as the basketball only fans. Most of us support all UK sports programs...those of you that just support one...once again fine, but do not even talk about any of the other team sports please.

-love uk bball (had season tix for a long time)...been to a few sec tourneys/saw em at the garden. Again...love UK bball...do not love all of the fanbase.

Performance of rival teams several weeks after we played is tough to measure. UF's performance against us isn't a constant and neither is our performance against against the gators. Both teams have improved since we met although I would say UF is improving more than us....as expected given the talent. I don't feel good about the UF game because (1) it is a loss and close wins count for absolutely nothing, and (2) I believe we missed an opportunity to win before UF's new coach could settle in and get up on step with his team. I believe if we played UF next week, the game would not be nearly as close. As the new coach's philosophy sinks-into the Gator team, future UF teams may be a taller order for UK to beat than the one we faced earlier in the year.

Good post.

It's horrible because we had a great chance to beat them and end the god-awful streak and we failed miserably again.

Offensively, yes. Be tough to get that opportunity again anytime soon.

I thought defense played great other than tackling the QB
