Paul Washington's Impact on the 2017 Class

I was reading an article talking about Richards wanting to bring back the Twin Towers to UK and accidentally stumbled upon the fact that PJ Washington's dad, Paul Washington, was the assistant coach for the Jordan Brand West team tonight. Within the article Paul Johnson spoke about the fact that Bamba's IQ, height, and 7'9" wingspan fits in perfectly with the length and wingspan of UK's current commitments including his own son's at 7'2". In short, he was extremely complimentary of Bamaba's game and stated he wanted him to commit to UK.

Depending on how the final spots on our roster are filled, Paul Washington could go down as one of the most influential recruiters that UK has ever seen from a parent of a player. Being good friends with the Knox's and an assistant coach for Bamba at the JBC, one could reasonably argue that Paul Johnson played a part in landing both Knox and Bamba if they were to commit to UK.

While highly doubtful that things will play out this way, do you think Mr. Washington could become an issue if both Bamba and Knox were to commit to UK? In other words, do you think he'd get all Michael Porter Sr. on us and expect to be part of the team as a reward for having a part in bringing talent to UK? Either way, Paul Johnson could end up going down as one of the most influential parents when it comes to recruiting at UK and let's just hope it's in a positive manner.

I doubt his access and interaction this week with Bamba and Knox will have little to no impact on what they ultimately decide to do. It will just come down to what they think is the best overall fit for their games. Who do they trust will prepare them the best for the next level. Quade has probably had more influence on Bamba than Mr. Washington, or is it Mr. Johnson?

Caught red handed. There you go, I've actually changed it back to its original form, as life isn't any fun if you can't laugh at yourself. Geese Louise I must have been completeLy out of it last night when I posted that. The sad thing is that I can't even use being under the influence as an excuse. Then again, having a two year old that wakes you up several times throughout the night can eventually cause insomnia that's equivalent to at least a 12 pack.
