Paul George to the Thunder

Boston offered Crowder, Bradley and 3 draft picks. The Pacers really screwed up if that's true. BTW that is the trade that was reported draft night and then taken down by Adrian Woj. Pacers should be in total rebuild mode now. Assuming at least 2 of the 3 were 1st rounders I think that's a terrible decision by the Pacers.

If there are no draft picks given up by the Thunder then they made out like bandits for a 1 year rental. No one is losing sleep over the loss of Oladipo.

Boston was offering there own picks, guaranteed to be in the high 20s. They weren't offering the plum picks that they have from the Lakers, New Jersey, and Sacramento. Not sure I would have done it, but I can see why they would turn it down.

He was going to leave after the season, and everyone knows he wants to go to LA in 2018. Teams won't offer a real package for a 1 year rental. They're better off doing this than getting nothing in return.

I guess the question many teams are thinking: If we build a good enough team with PG, would he still leave for LA? The Lakers are still a ways off from contending even with PG in the fold. But Boston, Houston, and Cleveland had to be thinking they can resign him if the team is good enough for a title. WOuld PG really leave in that scenario?

OKC is a bit different though, clearly a step or two behind those teams. But they were a #6 seed without PG, and are possibly good enough to grab a #3 seed now.
