Paul Biancardi - Brown to Cal or Michigan

Michigan's lead recruiter on Brown is Bacari Alexander. Alexander coached a Wheeler alum at the mid major level who is well connected with Brown's camp. I guess it makes sense in this weird recruiting year. Every recruit has connections to programs you wouldn't expect to be in.

Michigan I can see, but him saying Cal is what makes me not buy into this. Brown said he wants to go to a school good for academics as well as having a good basketball program. Cal has neither of those things.

I'd like to see him just totally pull some random school out of his butt.

"This year I will be playing for.......(puts on hat).......Oral Roberts University.

Cal is one of the highest rated schools academically on the planet. I seriously doubt however that Brown would enroll in their world famous computer science or math programs.

Cal is one of the best academic schools in the country. Brown must be wanting to take some finance classes to manage his money when he's OAD.:D

Some of these recruits seem to drum up logical reasons as to why they should go to a certain school, even if it makes little sense. There has to be something behind the scenes that we will never know about. That is why I wish we could get most of our recruiting done early, guys that really want to come here and are organized early in their thinking of where they should go. Saving a couple of schollies for the spring I can see but having to deal with so many recruits like we are having to do now is something I wish Cal didn't have to deal with. Worked his brains out recruiting this class and now he has to deal with a bunch that is sitting around with their minds bouncing all over the place.

Why would Brown go there with LaVert, their best pro prospect, already at the 3 and the leading shot-taker and scorer.

He'd be better off at UCLA, as much as I hate to say it. The Bruins have a wide open 3 slot that Looney filled and a history of getting pros to the NBA fast. Despite their lack of success in college, UCLA players do very well with their draft stock.

Cal is one of the best schools in America.

I don't understand why he is so concerned about it being a good academic school since he will leave in a year anyway.

Never got the feeling we were really in the game for Brown. This has been one strange recruiting class.I think it is possible that as a group they don't impact college basketball as much as some of the recent classes have

Hopefully Michigan offers him a bigger contract. The thought of him joining rabb and the other stud they got is scary

I mean, if this is how this class of kids is thinking, what can you do? LSU, UNLV, Cal, Mississippi State, St. Johns?

People want to find faults with Cal or his style of play or explain why we're missing on targets, but what the hell can we sell to kids who end up at places like that?
