P Patt is shooting 53% from NBA 3 point land after 3 games. 8 for 15. He was 4 for 5 last night.
Would you have EVER in your right damn mind imagined Patterson could shoot the NBA 3? He is a 3pt ace nowadays. He shot well from 3 last year too. Raptors really made him comfortable. Happy as hell for him.

The saga continues....MAN am I happy I'm a Cats fan. No better time or place to be a fan... P Pat was always a top Cat. Hope he keeps it up and gets a monster pay day.

actually yes. he was already nailing 17 footers when he arrived. solid stroke, free throw shooter too. hit a lot of big threes his last year. vandy on the road and against uconn in the garden were huge momentum threes in those games. he made a lot of clutch 15-17 footers on that baseline in sec play. he really didn't miss that shot any of three years. it was money. so a guy with his touch and strength it's actually not surprising.

look at boogie. same type of thing. they just have soft hands and good touch. his game reminds me of old charles oakley. only oakley rarely took the few extra feet back for threes.

one of my top three favorite cats ever. lifted a down program with all he could muster on the court and as a leader. a very solid all around basketball player. an old school game imo that is very effective for a team. he was the one that had the pulse for bbn during those years. he never complained and was a class act on and off the court. glad he left when he did and we got jones, but if he stayed all four would have surely been my favorite cat ever.

let me add, he was a prized recruit the kind we hadn't got for three years. there was a lot of unintentional pressure on him to stick out/perform. i love the way he accomplished this. not being selfish or trying to be flashy. not that he didn't have momentum plays/dunks for us because there were many, because he ran the floor so well.

Well, we all know that Patterson can thank Calipari, and the recruiting of D. Cousins at center, for getting him moving in the right direction. Calipari and Patterson both knew that it was in his best interest to develop more of a perimeter game, shooting and some ball handling. In his first 2 seasons at UK, the Cats needed Patterson on the block because there were no other options. But when Cousins came on board, Patterson moved to the 4 and started shooting some threes. He didn't shoot them well that last season but he proved he could do it.

He mentions how instrumental Calipari was in his development at least once a season.

Without looking back, I'm going to guess he shot 35% his last year here. In pretty sure that's accurate too, I remember that stat for some reason, and while 35% isn't lights out,it's enough to keep the D honset.

PPat might have been my fab player ever, or at least tied with Mash for being so great doing a dark period for UK, and both got to play for a NC contender which they deserved !

Good memory. I just looked it up here: http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/statistics/Players/Patterson_Patrick.html
He shot 34.78% from 3 (24-69) that last season he played for us. As you say, not a blistering percentage, but proof he could do it.

I talked to Pat at one of the campouts and told him that he he was as important to us as Mash was for the very reasons you state. He actually got a little emotional and was very humble but appreciative...a couple of other PatPat traits that won't be forgotten.

All things are possible if you are dedicated enough to put the time in to practice. Repetition makes perfect.

I caught the replay on the NBA channel last night. He had that type of shot where i knew it was goin in when he shot it. I love to watch the new guys but something about the guys that were here before Cal always pumps me up

the NBA three is WAAAAAY back there. Its impressive Patterson is making half of his shots from that range
