Up 20 against Miss St. Hold on to win. Up 12 against Auburn and lose. Up 9 against Kansas and lose. Up 21 against Tenn and lose. That is a lot of leads to lose. It is as if Cal is not making adjustments when the other coach does.
It is us slowing the game down when a higher pace is what gets us the 21 point lead. Cal is notorious for this and will lose more games that we should win than he will win because of it. Many of our wins have been in spite of this dumbass offensive philosophy and many of our most painful losses have been because of it.Up 20 against Miss St. Hold on to win. Reason is because we aren't deep. So beginning of games we have our entire team and look just fine.
Then guys start getting into foul trouble and all hell breaks lose.
Alex needs to stay on the court. He picks up two in the first half and a quick 3rd to start the 2nd half. He's out. And then we are screwed
We are fresh at the beginning.
Ulis got his 20 and 5 by the way.
What a gem.
He really struggled last night. Not sure if he still isn't feeling 100% after the cold/flu at KU. But his defense was really bad, he had only 1 assist in the last 26 minutes of the game, missed at least 3 or 4 rebound opportunities, and missed 7 of the 10 shots he took.
I think the thing that shows how much he was struggling was the fouls he committed. He had only had more then 3 fouls in a game once this season and he had 5 last night. He was a step slow nearly all night.
Will be interesting to see how he and the team move on from last night. Florida is a WAY better team than UT. Of the 9 remaining games there are only 2 easy ones (Georgia, Alabama). Play like last night and UK could easily lose 5-6 more games going into SEC tourney.
