Serious question. Who is this guy? I was searching for info on Golic, and his name popped up. Apparently has a big following? New ESPN darling. Never heard of him.

Get used to hearing about him. Will be a huge part of ESPN and College GameDay going forward after all the layoffs they made, and huge salary they are paying him.

Haven’t watched much of him, I started watching the Fox kickoff show… Pretty good show they put on at Fox…

He likes too talk tho, I’ll give him that

He came after Max Duffy pretty hard last summer and even downed UK Football also. Heck, even though he was a successful NFL punter for years, he went to freakin West Virginia, so how could he act all high and mighty?!!! I can't stand him!!! He is an arrogant know it all that has rose to prominence by snowing the public.

He’s another of this new breed of douche bag media personalities that bloviates incessantly and every opinion has to be an over the top hot take. Also, get a load of some of his outfits. Think Stephen A Smith with Ru Paul as his fashion consultant.

Agreed with this take completely. He's a know it all who loves to hear himself talk. And annoying as hell on top of it.

Would listen to just fired David Pollack, even with his UGA love, over this DBag 10 out of 10 times. Is it an indictment on our society these days that this blow hard and Steven A are so popular?

Typical media jerkweed.....in my opinion.

Agree with both. They just signed him to a mega deal so he will be everywhere.

He is the typical current day jerk/troll but it gets impressions online and that's what counts. I talk about this alot on here when bbn always falls for it. ESPN loves these guys, see Stephen a and skip before skip signed an insane deal with another network.

For comparison, they fired Todd mcshay. I wasn't nuts about the guy, but he was analytical and vanilla. That just doesn't sell right now in the eyes of the msm. They want attitude and social media and that's built through trolling

I think his group are near NFL only level sports talk…I have no idea what they/h brings to any college football, any basketball or baseball…or any other sports topics. So from august to January…he can do NFL void. I have no idea how he draws college fans of any level not other sports

But part of his Schlick js guys being guys and they drop f bombs ljke sailors. Is they going to get past FCC rules and be allowed in espn?

Passed on his last nfl contract and joined barstool before it was the barstool we know today, went out on his own and is now one of the bigger and most influential sports talking types.

I think a small part of the most recent round of firings at Espn was Disney clearing the deck for him. Their cast of talkers and rhetoric across the board had obviously been a part of their slump over the past handful of years.

Pat has the pull with the coveted younger millennials and gen z demographics via how he came up through barstool, then his own online, podcast, social media presence...

Also, tank top, no filter, not political, from Pennsylvania, played for WVU, and middle America's team in Indy... he'll bring middle working-class fan back to the table for espn.

Technically the FCC doesn’t rule over cable, and cable has no obligation to censor themselves (see the “sh!t” episode of South Park), so in theory they could drop the F bomb 1000 times in a row. But they’ll likely self censor anyway.

He’s a tool, ESPN must have got him cheap

He is a tool but he was not cheap.

From an analytics standpoint of interactions across all platforms, he warrants that kind of money. It's back to the troll discussion.

To that end, he unfairly attacked max Duffy last year and of course tons of bbn tweeted him telling him he was (obviously) wrong. Did he suffer from spewing nonsense? Just the opposite. All those interactions and views, along with the others, helped drive him to a rich deal.

ESPN must have some real smart people making these decisions, they keep this guy and Stephen A. Smith

I liked his work as the Smackdown commentator and the few matches he wrestled from time to time in the company.

ESPN cut a bunch of small fish but are paying monster outrageous unjustified contacts to Stephen A, McAfee, Greeny, and the Monday Night announce crew

I've never seen Kid Rock wearing sequins and a feather boa, which I have seen McAfee wear. Also, saw him wearing what looked like a woman's suit skirt at SB, though I guess it was shorts. Though I will give you that he likes to rock the tank tops like KR.

I like him, but I don’t take my sports super seriously and my vocabulary is similar to his.

The problem will be that Pat had no censor as a podcast. Disney is going to have people watching him and noting him to death even if they promised he could do his show how he wants. It'll be interesting how that $80million cost affects his show. I watched it depending on the guest. It was funny at times.

I actually like pat a lot. very entertaining and he is really smart despite the way he acts. He's made a million dollars in multiple different arenas of sport, entertainment and marketing. hell of a businessman.

Former Colts punter. He's nuts, but entertaining. He once drove his car into a retaining pond near Indy.
