Came out guns blazing. 7 points in only a couple of minutes of game-time. Playing very physical, giving Argentina's most physical guard a hard time.

Murray can't get to Lexington soon enough to suit me. The news on this kid just keeps getting better and better all the time and I see no downside to his game at all. This experience he is getting now will make him all that much more mature a freshman heading to UK and he will be battle tested and more than ready for the college game. I'm almost giddy just thinking about him joining the roster as I feel he will make a major difference in this team and is capable of being a big leader even as a freshman.

15 of Canada's 32 so far.

STUD. Say it again. STUD.

It's safer to hold back on the hype, but Murray has looked like an absolute monster now pretty much every time he's played going back to the NHS. If Skal is anywhere close to as good as he's supposed to be, he and Murray alone would be good enough to put a team in the top 10.

Yep. Add Briscoe and Ulis and UK is a top team nationally.

And on another note, Argentina seems to be desperately trying to start a fight this game. If this was soccer, they'd have about 5 yellow cards by now. Murray seems smart enough to stay out of it, but Anthony Bennett seems on the verge of decking someone.

Great experience for him playing against basically pros and semi-pros. Anyone know about when he'll be in Lexington? I know in past years when someone has come in late due to finishing up high school requirements or SAT/ACT testing, some say that they are 'behind' due to it....as far as UK is concerned. What will he be missing? Just conditioning, pick-up games, etc?

First week of August last I heard.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Murray as the No. 3 draft pick after Skal and Simmons. He's just so mature and skilled - he'll be next years's D'Angelo Russell. Excited about Briscoe as well. If Isaiah can bump up his shooting a little, the guy will be a lottery pick.

Picture today is just as bad as it was yesterday. I don't know why this is. I haven't had this problem in the past with ESPN3.

I'm not saying I want billionth to stay up all night making another highlight video...but I'm not saying I don't want billionth to stay up all night making another highlight video.
I recorded it, so it will come. It won't take me as long this time (I went out and played basketball for 3 hours after the game last night then worked on it--don't have anywhere to go tonight).

Watched most of the game. Very confident kid that will be great for us next year - but - in the 2nd half he looked a little loose with the ball. He has a lot to learn, took a few poor shots, bad passes and a few turnovers. Still excellent showing against European pro players. He will only get better and Cal with stop those one handed passes![winking]

Any new updates on Murray for those of us who can't watch? It would be apappreciated, thanks.
He struggled a little bit after the awesome 5-7 minute stretch he had in the 1st half. He wasn't getting clean looks (this was a legit, intense game, with some really physical D being played by Argentina), and the 1 shot he did make was a fluke banked 3 as the shot-clock expired. He did make a sweet block to seal the game for Canada.

The overall impression after these 1st 2 games is overwhelmingly positive. Murray is out on the floor playing with guys who are in the NBA, or near that level, and he fits right in. This is not some kid getting token minutes (like Towns when he played for the DR), this is a guy who's a key part of his team. That speaks volumes.

Game is over, but overall, Jamal played like a man, was one of the key players they put on the floor amongst a bunch of seasoned NBA vets. The guy just has that "it" factor. He's going to be the best player ever to come out of Canada at the end of the day. Better than Nash.

He also proved he can fit in with other talented players. The Murray, Briscoe, Ulis backcourt next year is going to be the best backcourt in college basketball - no contest. Pair that with the best center in college basketball, and Poy, and a strong bench, and we're going to a brutal opponent for anyone. Plus, guards win championships.

Can't wait to see this team in action.

Thanks billionth. I assume you will start a new thread? Thanks again.

Yup. It will be probably 1 1/2 to 2 hours though before it's ready due to some technical difficulties with the recording. I should have it all sorted out soon though.

No worries. I'm beat and will be heading to bed soon. Hopefully it will still be kicking in the morning.

Thanks again for all you do.
