Was looking around at travel costs for a potential last minute trip to Oxford (mainly for shits & gigs). Only one hotel in Oxford has room, for a cool price of $1,000 a night to stay in a...wait for it...a La Quinta Inn! Could save $500 a night by staying 25 miles away from Oxford. Wonder if that means we'll have a good crowd in town. Definitely shot down any chance of me making the journey.

Double Wow!

My advice would be to either stay in Tupelo, Southaven, or Horn Lake. Still close enough to where it's not a terrible drive. And if you've never been, and you're staying south of Memphis, Graceland is stone's throw away. And the drive to Oxford is really pretty from that side. Take 22 to Holly Springs and then down 7 to Oxford. You cross Sardis Lake on the swamp side.

Drive down Friday. Drink late into the night. Power nap in the car. Up early and walk the grove. Watch UK whip ole miss. Drive 2-3 hours back home and get a cheap room in a random city.

Found an AirBNB for less than 500 for 2 nights...but it's about 20-30 minutes from the stadium. But rooms aren't cheap, that's for sure.

Pretty sure the only game I went to in Oxford, I slept in my car. Of course, that was in my younger days. That probably won't work for too many old schoolers like myself, lol!

Olive Branch area is the way to go. I made my reservations 6 months ago. Oxford is small and doesn't have much, and now it is a week plus away. There was never anything cheap there, and especially not now.

I thought about doing this, but if I actually went to Oxford I would drink my face off and as far as I know you can technically get a DUI even if you're just sleeping in your car lol (I could be wrong though idk)

Somewhere William Shatner has shat the priceline.com bed for their services. Also the LaQuenta manager needs to abstain from mixing his phsych meds with crack rocks. JoOxford is not Manhattan or the Hamptons. The playboy mansion would allow a 10 hour stay for a better deal. Throw in Lane

The Arboretum @ UK , would be beddern any grove that cost 1000$ a day to stay on a reservation that requires 12:00 game attendance & one would be there less than 12 hrs. The Arboretum should be an attraction connected to our football games every other institution in the SEC should envy. But if it’s not Barnharts brainchild forget it.
