From who trilly?Rumor has it there is a little juice here that he might be transferring to us.
I would say so. 6'-10" 245. Avg. 16.7 pts., 6.7 Reb. and had 35 blocks before going down in early February with a Season ending finger injury. If he can fully recover, I'd say that's a pretty solid add to the front court. Iowa is about to fire their coach too, so there may be some fuel to this rumor. Only knock is his 3 pt. shooting is suspect. but not sure if that's a product of the system and him not taking many or something else. From just looking at his size and stats on the ESPN website ... it seems like Owen Freeman would be a good transfer target for us next season ... right ?
Just a sophomore so two years left too. Not sure of his NBA stock, if we'd get two years out of him, but a lot of upside to a kid like this one. Good size to bang around in our Football on the hardwood league.from watching just a little video of him, seems to be an inside player
was co-freshman of the year last year in the Big 10
Would he be a starting center or a PF?Talented guy. HIs problem is Iowa under McCaffery was an embarrassment regarding S&C. So he gained awful weight, was out of shape and couldn't guard anyone this year. Iowa played a nothing Non Conference schedule per usual under Fran. Last year he was more impressive and like all Iowa players-they don't lift, don't get stronger, don't get better. Now he's skilled and has potential. Family was not happy with the program and he had a "finger surgery" to end his year which was 2 weeks after rumors got out he was gone after the year.
I still remember the CJ Fredrick body transformation pictures the offseason he transferred here from Iowa. In the before picture, dude was maybe 30%+ body fat with no muscle definitionTalented guy. Iowa alum big donor out of Cedar RapidsWho is saying this rumor? Just wanna make sure it's not MeManBoy or Joe Adams before I get my hopes up.
yea, the videos I watched showed him inside, nothing at all outsideLooks like a decent replacement for Carr, just looking at his size and stats. FT and 3 point shooting leave a little to be desired. I
any time table for visit?Iowa alum big donor out of Cedar Rapids
Listed at a 4, is he a 5 there because of his needed size at that position or is he a true 5 and should not be listed as a 4?yea, the videos I watched showed him inside, nothing at all outside
Waiting for season to be over per this guy who is close with the fatherany time table for visit?
As always appreciate your insight. I feel like those midwest corn bred states should make their living on having good S&C programs, I'm thinking of the famous Nebraska o-lineman photo:Talented guy. Low assist percentage, for what that's worth. Not sure what Iowa asked him to do but Amari is 23.8% this year, and Freeman is 9.6%. 1.3 assists per game. Can he pass?
I saw a couple clips of him driving from the top of the key. Didn't look super smooth.yea, the videos I watched showed him inside, nothing at all outside
I'd say he could play both, kinda like Garrison maybe?Would he be a starting center or a PF?
Is he a rim protector? Is he quick?
I don't really know based on how Pope has utilized his 5 man--Freeman can't handle the ball and isn't a great passer. He's a traditional type of 5 who has some nice touch--could see him stepping out to shoot but he's not bringing the ball up nor are you playing through him in the halfcourt.Would he be a starting center or a PF?
Iowa's S&C under McCaffery was a joke. He didn't make anyone get in shape or get stronger. Did a great job with skill and offensive basketball but if you looked at a player he brought into the program, they looked similar physically from FR-8th year (sorry flashback to Jordan Bohannon's career)As always appreciate your insight. I always worry about players coming off a injury especiall if itfoot ankle or wrist finger related. Nagging injuries seem to never really go away.I would say so. 6'-10" 245. Need 3 more bigs plus a small forward and PG.Going to need help in the front court big time. whomever they look at
Joe Adams SMDH that guy doesn’t know a thing. He try’s so hard to be an insider tho.Who is saying this rumor? Just wanna make sure it's not MeManBoy or Joe Adams before I get my hopes up.
Freeman seems like he’d be a better fit to replace Broome at Auburn. Not as athletic as JB but would have multiple years. No thanks. Pope needs players to stretch the floor. Get athletic bigs, it shouldn’t be that hard at a place like Kentucky.
