Why would Phoenix give up Ayton for those scrubs?

I don't know a lot about Nurkic, but know they weren't getting where they wanted to go (a championship) with Ayton. Agree he's just not the answer.
Feel bad for Book having to deal with Grayson Allen every day now.

The other three Phoenix guys have to assume roles that are pure defensive specialists, garbage men, etc.... I think Keon Johnson can do it. I don't see Grayson Allen fits that mold...but maybe he is a sniper role. Nassir Little....don't really know if he fits that role.
Phoenix needed to get off having 4 big contracts under the salary cap has major penalties...so tossing Ayton out (who is charmin soft) and filling out the rest of the roster with wings/defenders....maybe that works? Kevin Durant will have to play PF solely IMO and not a SF with this roster changes.

Nurkic could be a decent pickup and probably isn't that far off from Ayton in terms of production. Problem is he is often injured. I wonder if Phoenix is planning something with the added salary available to them, as Nurkic is half the salary that Ayton was.. and I feel like some of these other pieces will likely get shopped. You can't do a 4 for 2 trade and not let some pieces walk.
As for Dame and the Bucks.. it looks good on paper. But Dame played 2/3rds of a season last year, and a 1/3rd the year before (give or take). Hopefully he's healthy.
Suns need Boogie Cousins. Still don't know why he isn't on a team. He doesn't need to start.
Blazers have some nice trade assets going forward. The three picks from Milwaukee could be gold if Greek Freak and Dame walk in a few years.

Ayton is ass, man doesn't love basketball and he's soft as helllll. Did virtually nothing for the suns in the playoffs.

Ayton is soft and a grump ever since he signed (barely) below max level. With all the scoring they have, it’s not a big deal to have a passing, defensive minded center who won’t be a jerk if he’s not scoring. Plus they save a ton of money in cap taxes. The real question is can you find enough scrubs to round out a competent roster. Things can go south fast with an injury.

A couple years ago, absolutely.. but I think too much time has passed. He's a shell of himself and no way would he be able to last after a few weeks. Sad what happened with injuries. He was among the best centers in the league at one point (before the rise of Embiid and Jokic)
Aynton sucks and they won’t win crap with him. I think they could have made a better deal but we will see. Allen sucks and is a flipper but he’s still a shooter and decently athletic bench piece that gives the Suns depth. The Suns couldn’t build any depth with the salary on the books.
Shows Milwaukee is serious about keeping Gianis. He came out and said he would leave if they weren’t serious. They keep Middleton too so that’s a great core.
Ayton sucks, the Suns got depth and salary relief. It will work out better for them IMO. Now they can keep the Ball in Booker and Durant’s hands and not worry than Ayton pouts. Dude doesn’t love basketball and would rather be playing PS5 all day.
That is true they don’t have to feed Ayton. Especially with Beal on board. I admittedly don’t know much about the dude replacing him but the Suns just gave up their #1 pick(pretty sure) in what, 3 or 4 years? I don’t follow the NBA much so I’ll for sure take your word for it. Hope all is well homie.

Chris Paul is all flash and no show, along with Lillard? Can't say I've ever seen that side to them.
Yeah I think those 3 make a way better squad, all they need is a tough Center to rebound, a PF that is versatile 3 and D, and let them 3 score at will.
I agree. Lillard has carried the Blazers for 10 years. Paul has gotten a little unlucky in the playoffs and Phoenix should have won but he went down injured like he is a lot lately. I mean he is old now though. Lillard shows out all the time just didn’t have help.

Live in Phoenix and watch the Suns all the time- Ayton is/was not the answer- not physical enough and they over paid to keep him- Nurkic will help rebounding, defense and toughness and as much as I don't like Allen, he can shoot the ball and will get many open shots with the Suns
