OT: Women's vollyball

I have two daughters playing collegiate vball - it's a fun sport - very interesting and entertaining when played at a high level. UK has some nice pieces and looked pretty strong vs UL (watched last week). Definitely can still improve greatly and clean up the service errors and defense. Ashley Dusek being back is huge. Florida looked world beater early season beating Texas and Nebraska and will be a huge test for sure - UK played them even last season I think. Florida has some size in the middle - experience from the outside - but missing the big leftie from the right side as in the past - sooo... as always GO CATS!

Wow, great stuff! Congrats to your daughters playing in college. Looking forward to seeing the Cats 10/22 vs the Vols @Memorial. I like our team!

Thanks - they aren't Vols - thankfully! It's a good sport in that it is physical - and getting moreso - but isn't the same type of physical CONTACT like basketball and soccer... so your skill has to carry you (not that the other two do not require skill - they very much do - but not the same dynamic where some refs will allow different levels of physical play - which always frustrated my kids - they longed for more consistent officiating). When a ref can impact outcome like say... John Higgins vs UNCheat last season... it kills the kids who work so hard and are willing to play fair. Anyway - that's my rant for the day - lol... Thanks for the congrats - it's fun to watch.

Great to hear. I have season tickets as I do for many UK sports but have only been able to make it to one game so far this season. Looking forward to SEC play and should get to more games. They are fun to watch. I used to coach VB in high school and agree with poster above that's it's really fun to watch at high level, much better in person than TV.

Awesome for our CATS! I coached high school volleyball for 25 years and have a great appreciation for the skill level of this year's team. I have UK Volleyball season tickets and this team is great fun to watch!

I absolutely love volleyball. Watching the Cats sweep Little Brother in three games was nice. Winston Bennet's daughter plays for LilBro. Coach Skinner has done an amazing job building the program (thanks also too Mitch Barnhart).

Running a 6-2 in college? I'm not sure I've seen that done a lot but that certainly allows for three blockers and hitters all the time. Have they changed the sub limits? Having the libero certainly helps with substitution limits but does that hurt the back row defensively?
