No NOLA, either? That's a shame. That's one of the better vacations to be had, imo--SECT in New Orleans.

IMO the SEC should be rotated between:
Atlanta
Nashville
Memphis
New Orleans
St. Louis
Louisville

I do like that trip down to tampa, throw in some golf..nice spring break.i would prefer a couple more trips to Tampa thrown in there..

1.Nashville Chamber of Commerce paid SEC big bucks
2.Georgia Dome torn down .new one being built.takes 2 years..
3.4. 5. See Reason #1

When I was in Atlanta for the last SEC tournament played there, I found out that the SEC had to move it else where as Atlanta was going to renovate the area in a major way, including New Arena. Nashville ended up the next choice, but by no means my favorite. Won't be going to Nashville and this will be the first missed SEC tournament for me in years...

New ATL dome is being built next to Georgia Dome so that isn't the reason.
If the dome is too big, Phillips Arena in ATL seats 19,500.

So, I have no clue!

Philips doesn't do major tournaments....I truly don't think they have must interest.

Even with the tornado issue in '08, Philips was unable or unwilling to assist in relocating the games.

To me, ATL makes the most sense, but Nashville must have paid a nice price to get that clout.

I've been to the tournament in Atlanta, Nashville and Tampa. I thought Tampa was the best destination venue and Atlanta the worst. What was it about Atlanta that many folks seem to have liked so well?

LOLS! Because it is an easier place for all the UK fans in Kentucky to get to! 3.5 hours from Lexington versus 6.5 hours to Atlanta. Personally I would like to see Tampa, Atlanta and Nashville rotate the event. I'm biased as I live in Florida and I can make those games. The other sites are too far for me now.

Go Big Blue!

This. We make up most of the fans anyhow so cater to us!!

I'm sorry, but playing SEC tourney in St. Louis makes as much sense to me as a submarine with a screen door. I understand Mizzou is in our conference now, but and SEC tournament in San Antonio (TA&M inclusion) won't make much sense either.

Probably got tired of the domes being half empty or worse. What did they average about 20,000 for the title game if we were in it? The opening rounds probably only had 10,000 at most. Looks bad on tv being that empty. Probably costs a lot more than a 20,000 seat arena to use.

With the Final Four being in domes, I kinda like playing the SEC Tournament in a dome to get teams prepared for it.
