The 2K guys have apparently been working their butts off over the past year, can't believe how much they are cramming into this years game. Looking forward to trying out the rookie Cats and making my own personalized arenas should be pretty cool too. Xboxone Gamertag: Ozymandias4BB

Definitely will. I'm curious to see what other colleges will be in it (fingers crossed for Kentucky but who knows). They confirmed 9 colleges that would be in the game, but that was confirmed by people who checked the CLC databases to see who had licenses signed 2K. Kentucky wouldn't show up there because Kentucky doesn't use CLC (they have another licensing company), so time will tell. With college basketball being a featured part of the game, you have to feel like there are more than 9 teams, and you have to feel like there are more than 9 colleges that agreed to allow 2K to use the programs' name and likenesses.
After checking out a few videos though, I'm pretty pumped about the MyCareer mode this year. Friday, I plan on going down, getting my car out of the shop (after 2 f***ing months of body repairs, thank you winter), and driving out to GameStop to pick it up.

Yes "My Career" looks sick. I was really hoping the Cats would be in especially after seeing how awesome Kansas'court looks in the game.

I frequent Operationsports.com and can tell you guys almost anything you want to know about it.

1. There are 10 colleges in the game, and UK (Duke and UNC as well) is not one of them. Arizona, KU, UL, UCLA, UCONN, Villanova, Michigan, Texas, Georgetown and Wisconsin are included. You play 3-4 college games and 3-4 HS games. Once your MyPlayer gets to the NBA I've even heard the first year is scripted and you only play certain games. You then get full control your 2nd year and Spike Lee's involvement ends there.
2. As far as my plans, I am going to start a MyLeague and make an all UK-Team. And guess what my friends? We can relocate teams now and while sadly Louisville is the only city in KY included...you do NOT have to have the team called the "Louisville" so and so's. So you can recreate the KY Colonels or the PRO KY Wildcats if you wish. There are tons of new cities you can move teams to, and you can change jerseys, arena design, etc. Nashville, Cincy, KC, St. Louis, Vegas, Seattle, etc, are a few of the new cities.
3. If you preordered the game at Gamestop you can actually go get it on Thursday night if your location does a midnight release. It is a rolling release...so you get it at 1200am EST, but 1100pm CST and so on.

I read it as there were at least 10 teams in it (all of which were confirmed in one way or another). I'd like to see how a game that implements college basketball works around cutting from 352 teams to 10, but if there's a will, there's a way. I guess we won't really know until it comes out, but it's going to be an incredibly difficult decision if I have to pick any other school aside from Kentucky.
Also, it would be a crime of the highest order to have Anthony Davis as one of your cover stars, and tell him "Ah, yeah, you can't pick Kentucky" when he goes to make a college decision in the game.

I'll wait to see how mod-friendly the game is before I purchase.

2K released developer kits for 2K14 that let modders add complete rosters for every year of the NBA since the 60's.
Want to play the Big O's Bucks vs. LeBron's rookie Cavs?
Kobe and Shaq's '01 Laker squad vs. Magic's old LA teams?
Want to start an franchise as the '03 Cavs with rookie LeBron and build a super team around him with actual draft classes from '04 to '16 without drafting busts because you know how well they pan out as pros?

All possible. They removed these tools in 2K15, unfortunately. Hopefully they have the foresight to eventually release them for 2K16. I guarantee if they do, someone will mod one of the college teams and turn them into UK.

I preordered it and can't wait to play it. Not exactly sure when that'll be thought because I've got a long weekend. Add me on Xbox and we will play BigJBark

Well as far as I know KY is not in the game, and neither is ASU for Harden or Davidson for Curry. I know neither of those are UK's caliber, but I agree it is strange none of the three cover guys schools are included (as far as I know). My sources are people that already have the game.

I seen today that ASU had a license signed with 2K, so this would be news to me.

my team will consist of:

Guards:
John Wall (rating 87)
Eric Bledsoe (82)
Brandon Knight (81)
Rajon Rondo (77)
Jodie Meeks (74)

Forwards:
Anthony Davis (92)
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (78)
Terrence Jones (75)
Patrick Patterson (74)

Centers:
DeMarcus Cousins (87)
Enes Kanter (80)
Karl-Anthony Towns (78)

pretty solid 12 man roster.

Wall
Bledsoe
MKG
Davis
Cousins

Jason, to answer your question I'd say this holiday season or before would be a good time to upgrade to the PS4. I think there are going to be more and more amazing games that justify that in the coming years. To be fair, it depends on how many games you play if it is really ever worth it, but it is an inevitable thing to have to do at some point as they will stop making PS3 games.

That is a pretty unstoppable team. I am going to do something similar, but I'm not going to platoon or play 12-13 guys. I am going to roll with Wall, Bledsoe, Knight, Davis, Cousins with a Meeks, Booker, Randle and Towns bench...with probably some lower ranked guys like DJ, Andrew and Aaron Harrison, and someone like a Darius Miller or Teague if they are on the game to round out the roster. I am going to run with a 9 man rotation pretty much, thought about making it 10...but I just find it hard to take that many minutes from Cousins and AD.

And on the college debate, such as it is: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/nba-2k-basketball/856094-10-confirmed-colleges-nba-2k16.html

is there any real logical to move up to the PS4? Had a PS3 for several years now. Still gets the job done. Think it's stupid to spend that much money for a new console. Been considering making the jump since last year's game, though.

I bought the PS4 out of pure ego. Got crazy OT summer of '14 and had never bought a brand new system before. Silly, I know.

I have a 4K tv, so I enjoy/make use of the visual upgrade of the system. 2K14 was a jaw dropping upgrade from the PS3. However, that's all very superficial. The biggest improvement is the fidelity of the network (which you of course pay to use). I don't get booted nearly as often, and there's rarely lag.

I play 2K, Elder Scrolls and COD. Truth be told, I could be perfectly fine with the PS3. Even though I play ESO, I miss Skyrim. I like my PS4 a lot, but if you don't play anything online, I wouldn't bother upgrading yet.

Yeah, isn't it like 50 bucks a year for online now for PS? I know on PS3 it was free. I do not play much online so my cheap butt has not dished over the 50 a year yet. I have no desire to play Cheese-R-Us guys on Madden or 2k.

As far as PS4 games I'd recommend to Jason or anyone if they want to upgrade. Witcher 3, The Last of Us Remastered, GTA 5 (another remastered edition with 1st person mode), Fallout 4 (coming out this Nov), Uncharted 4 (next year), any of the new Assassins Creed games, the new MGS looks good, etc. I think they are also releasing an Uncharted trilogy for the PS4 with those redone as well. Having said all this, some of these are redone/remastered so I guess at this point you can still make the argument not enough to justify it, but I agree with Celticat that the graphic updates in sports' games are noticeable.

thing is... I don't play online so any network upgrades wouldn't mean anything to me and I don't really play video games much at all anymore. The last game I bought was some Walking Dead game that they wife and I played through for a little bit before getting tired of it because it was too drawn out and the last one I bought before that was NBA2K15. So..... yea. Not really going all in on video games or anything. Just wondering if the visuals and game play of the PS4 version is really THAT much better than the PS3 version.

Can vouch. Especially in sports games, namely 2K games, the graphics are worlds and worlds better on the Xbox One and PS4 than they are on the 360 and PS3.

yea even with that roster I listed I still leave auto subs on and run pretty much a tight 9 man rotation with 10-12 getting 5-8 minutes a game. I just wanna hog all the UK guys and finish a 50-something game regular season with like 4 losses haha

The cool thing is if you want to you can make a Kentucky Wildcats team (with logo, Rupp Arena court, and uniforms and all) this year by relocating to Louisville. That is something that might make me want to play this game longer than usual. Sports games just bore me after a while. I have yet to make it through 82 games playing all in a season. I try to play half...and can do that. 41 is fine, but even then that is a month of playing roughly if you play one game a day and 2 games 10 days that month.

That's pretty awesome about being able to create UK's floor. Is that an online thing or something you can modify within the game? I've never played any game or gone online to do anything.

When I do half seasons or 3/4 seasons I usually play 3-4 games a week and spread it out over the regular basketball season.

No, you can do it off-line. Just take some crappy NBA team you don't care about being in the league...and relocate them to Louisville. You are then able to name the team, do the jersey colors, designs, the floor/court, etc. It is new to this year's edition of the game. Im excited about it. I am ready to get my game tonight from Gamestop and probably stay up far too late tinkering with it.

And you can completely customize the roster and play a season...I suppose through trades?

If so, that's pretty damn awesome.

Yeah, as Rhavicc said that should do it. You might be able to trade all the UK guys to one team in the roster managing section before you even start your MyLeague and then just utilize that customized roster (load it) when you start your MyLeague. Or if not, you can certainly do trades once you start the MyLeague (probably won't to turn fair trade off though lol).

Yes agree wholheartedly, a world of dufference.

Where are you all getting a Friday release date? Games, DVD movie new releases are usually on Tuesdays and the game site says Sep 29 for release. People still buy the DVD versions? I download only now, hate swapping discs out. PS4: Shinerunner67

I don't see DJ, or the Harrisons on their teams. UGH. I want to fill out the bottom of my UK roster with low level guys. I don't want guys riding the end of my bench that can be starting or playing key bench minutes on other teams lol yes I take this too seriously!

Psn name justwar23 add me up i just got to the pros on the story mode. Very deep

I did not get this game last year, and this is my first time on the PS4 with a NBA game. It plays beautifully, and looks amazing. I did my best to make the Kentucky Wildcats...the announcers say stuff like "the visiting team" instead of the name though. I guess that was too tough for them to figure out how to get these different team variation names coded in for the announcers to say, but I'll live. I suck at this game...I lost to Orlando with a team of UK players...that should not happen. I just need to work on my defense.
