Stay Safe Friends!

Louisville. I got out and shoveled my drive ways, steps and sidewalk earlier. There was about 8 inches. That was before the ice hit. I haven’t been back out to look since. Have looked out the windows a few times. Nothing standing out as far as the ice goes. No drooping tree limbs or anything. Looking at the radar…seems the worst of it is over.

Just checking in on everyone. We got mostly lucky down here, just some slick side streets and some trees down. I called into work tonight just out of precaution. Getting home this Sunday morning was rough enough.

How is everyone else doing?
I tried to get out to go to treatment this morning and nope, got stuck at the bottom of my driveway. Nice cop helped me push it out of the road back up thankfully. I’m paying an Uber with a 4x4 to get where I need to go!

I shoveled half my driveway, it’s on a massive slope and is pretty long. Couldn’t do it all with the ice on top. It was a bitch.

Stay safe and warm everyone. Here in Oklahoma, we don't get much snow. We will get a light dusting and the occasional blanketing. We get more ice storms but so far this year nothing. 17° right now with 20-25mph winds does chill you out though. -10° wind chill factor.

Being retired is nice on days like this. Well...it's nice most days. Wife works though so; I get to hear the whining until she has gone to work.

North of Dayton we didn’t see snow flying till 1030 last night. Got 4-5 inches on the ground another 2-4 more today. Winds gusting to 30 mph and 22* real feel well below zero. Roads extremely slick and blowing drifting snow makes driving difficult

If you’re in the path of this lovely winter storm I hope you stay safe and warm
We’ve already got 4-5 inches of snow out here in Oldham with another heavy band getting ready to come through, after which it will switch to sleet/freezing rain until tonight
I believe after midnight it go back to snow which should be good for another 2-3 inches
71, 265, 264 and 64 are already shut down locally. My work hasn’t called a closure yet, but my sons and my daughter in laws have. Most area schools are closed too, along with churches and other facilities
Unless you absolutely have to get out in this, please don’t go. If you do have to be out, please be oh so careful.
This ice can kiss my arse. I can’t go anywhere. I told my wife I love 4x4’s and always want an SUV for this exact reason, but she never wants one. Until we can’t get out that is.

Good morning all
We ended up with about 9 inches of snow here then I’m thinking maybe just under a quarter inch of ice on top of that
Sitting here on my back porch watching a light snow fall. I think we’re supposed to get another 1-2 inches before all is said and done
But we still have power and we’re all cozy and snug
Gonna enjoy a day off work..put a chicken in the crockpot for chicken and noodles for dinner tonight, do few domestic things.

If you have power, that is a great thing.

As a UK transplant living in NW Ohio, we normally get much more snow than you, but we just got a dusting last night.
However, my trip to Dayton today will most likely have to wait until tomorrow, as they got around 15 inches.

All the best to all my colleagues/friends/fellow UK fans/graduates in the homeland.

P.S. I've been all around, Pacific NW, Southwest, East, Mid-Atlantic, but...the greatest place is still My Old Kentucky Home.

South of Louisville, we have 6 or 7 inches, freezing rain
No power for couple of hours, trees snapping and drooping limbs
Don't mind the cold but hate this crap.....too old for it
I’m right there with ya brother. I’m happy we have power still. I hope it gets fixed soon for you. Stay warm and safe as you can.

Same. Umm Chicken Noodle sounds so good in this weather. Yum.

Georgetown got hit pretty hard too. We got about 8”, like Cynthiana obviously. The ice was around .5” this morning when I had to drive my wife to work. Not a pleasant drive but they got the roads fairly passable by the time I got back home from Lex. Pretty good snowfall coming down right now. Prolly pick up another inch or so. I’m ready for it to be done. Snow is great, but the ice is miserable.

Agreed so much, I can handle the snow fine, as long as the city gets out and makes an effort on the roads. The ice sucks, nothing you can really do about it.

Yeah, even on 4 wheel drive, ice sucks. Anyone says they can "Master drive on ice!" stay FAR away from. No one can truly drive on it. You just go really slow until you are in a place you can stay the eff put. Ice sucks. I got stuck in an intersection with a a slight hill on it once due to a full on sheet of glazed ice. You ain't experienced fear until no matter what you do, brakes or no breaks, all you do is slide. Nope. Nope nope nope.
