Prayers for family, terrible, why do musicians always die in airplanes and helicopters.

My apologies for my prior post. Unnecessary and in poor taste. Good job mods for cleaning it up and I'll try to do better in the future.

Hate it for his family, friends and fans.

Will keep my musical opinions to myself.

Hope anyone who knew him finds comfort.

I remember seeing him at the Z pub on Richmond road when I lived in Lexington in the early 90's when he first started out, sad news.

That group has had a black cloud hanging over it the last few years.
Prayers for his family.

Lexington guy who was a big UK fan. I met him a few times in the early 2000's while at UK when they performed there. Really nice guy.

This is a huge bummer.

Sorry if I offended people but I have personal reasons for not liking him due to his treatment of a family member.
When Bobby Knight dies I'm not going to fake it and say what a great guy he was, lol.

I feel terrible for his family, particularly his daughters. I lost my father at an even earlier age, so I know. Since he was a Kentucky native and UK grad, I felt particularly terrible about his loss as well. Then I found out about his "canned hunt" of a domesticated black bear named Cubby within a 1 acre electrified enclosure. I abhor people who do such things, so I find myself conflicted about Troy. He paid his consequences and made his apologies but the mere fact that it was within him to do such a thing really bothers me. So, I'll send my sympathies to those who loved him and reserve any feelings I personally hold towards him.

It's cool.

There's been some people die where I wasn't exactly sad over it, might've even been a couple where I said "good." Sue me.

Just because someone's famous or well-liked doesn't mean everyone liked them. Hell, I know there's at least a handful of folks who will jump for joy when I croak. It's part of life.

*This in no way pertains to the death of Troy Gentry. Just letting tack know people react differently to the death of others.

Look, the guy killed a bear unethically. I'm a big gun guy and a hunter. I don't approve of it, but people make mistakes. He had remorse and apologized, paid his due. The fact that someone could actually hold ill will towards him during his death over it goes to show the absolute craziness that this country has accepted toward animals. PETA would be proud.

We let murderers out of prison early, we pardon and downplay cop killers, we even allow politicians to evade justice in the name of ideology, hello Benghazi.

But a dude kills a bear in a pussy fashion and we should spit on his corpse and hang his lifeless body from a bridge.

I'm glad I won't be around to see this place in 100 years.

Speak in hyperbole much? No one said his corpse should be desecrated. Try to argue peoples statements, not strawman arguments.

Oh buddy there are plenty out there who would do just that over the incident.

And if it bothers you so much just ignore the hyperbolic tone in the paragraph you cherry picked.

Bro, if you think there aren't people who would spit on his corpse over killing that freakin bear you're living on unoccupied land.

In any event I'll do us a favor and retract the statement.

Is there something else wrong with the post?

I dont feel that way towards him. I grew up hunting, my brother big game hunts. I couldn't care less if you kill a bear. I was just very disappointed to read the story.

Yea it was a bad decision. As an outdoorsman I was disgusted. Really it's bizarre because anyone who enjoys the sport knows there's no enjoyment at all from a set up kill, but people make mistakes. I've seen people rip him after death on social media for it. That's extreme, especially coming from a country that believes murderers of humans can be rehabilitated.
