OT/Georgia Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken leaves for the NFL

Let us put this in perspective. Before Monken, GA offense was 48th in the nation. Last season, I believe their offense was about the fourth best?

To be fair James Coley was OC before Monken when it was 48 and looks like Bobo will be the new one. Not my choice but he averaged 41 a game his last year with less talent. But hate losing Monken, easily top 5 OC in the country last couple years

Georgia about to face the same opponent that slew bama, Clemson, and every other top program before them: staff attrition.

It's hard to stay on top. Harder still without continuity. Amazing to see bama stay so long at the top while basically filling major staff positions every year. Amazing to see Clemson retain key staff for so long before finally losing some and folding in the process.

How will Georgia handle it? We are about to see

With a new OC and new QB in Beck, wonder if anything will be different? Bobo has proven he will score points, but will he be much different?

Success brings opportunity for staff and it is to be expected. I think Georgia is now on solid granite, probably mined in Elberton or Tate. In other words Georgia is Georgia and is not going anywhere. The have a very solid foundation.

Coach will have his choice of candidates for OC.

Apparently Monken had numerous NFL OC offers including Tampa Bay … more from NFL Media … Monken is the second SEC OC to leave for the NFL with the other being Bill O’Brien at Bama .. speaks well for the coaching in your conference

Hate to see him go but understand the process. You have success schools will come after your coaches, it's how the game is played. Don't forget Stoops had to replace five last year. People will come after Coen/White soon enough. Name to watch as a future OC either at UK or elsewhere....Scott Woodward.

I think Beck was the starter if Monken had returned. With him gone don't think it's a given. According to the people who have watched practice Gunner Stockton has looked the best. He has a long time connection with Bobo. Now if he wins the job we lose 2 qbs to the portal which wouldn't be good leaving us with 1 scholarshipped QB.

But that wasn't what you asked, I really don't know what to expect, he had some good RBs and a couple good QB, but he never had an OL like he will have this fall or the group of receivers he will have. I think he should be able to put up around 40 a game, if not Kirby will fire his best friend at end of the season.

Winning 2 national championships gives you the security to just hire old teammate college buddies to be your staff

Not bad timing for Monken. UGA will have some changes on offense next year that will not be minor.

You do realize Bobo's offense holds UGA's highest scoring average led by Hutson Mason at over 42 a game and every QB on campus now is better than him. Going to run the same offensive scheme, defense will be better than 22. Doesn't mean UGA goes 15-0 again, but won't fall off the edge either

The “changes” will be with personnel. You do realize that? Right?

Are you talking about the QB, the guy who everyone said was only good because of the talent around him? The one that the very same people are now saying can't be replaced?
If I remember correctly it was mostly UGA fans and broadcasters that kept going on and on about how they weren’t even playing their best QB the whole 2021 season.

Yeah those and fans of teams we played saying the only reason he ever won a game was because of who he played for. UT fans are still crying about him going to Heisman presentation over Hooker. I guess that means Stetson is 3-0 against the Vols.
