I was thinking that in this era of massive transfers, eventually some player will make history by starting, scoring and contributing to two different programs in the Final Four.

Of course, we all hope that Lamont Butler is the one to do this, adding a Kentucky run to his San Diego State heroics.

Florida's Alijah Martin, transfer from Florida Atlantic, has a chance. Caleb Love (UNC-Cheats, Arizona), Norchad Omier (Miami and Baylor) and Jeremy Roach (Duke, Baylor) have a chance and probably one of two more. It'll eventually happen in the transfer era. Man, would it be great for Lamont Butler to be the first!

(Note I said start, score and contribute. Bob Bender was on the Indiana team in 1976 but only played one minute in the final four as a freshman with no stats. He then was on the Duke team Kentucky beat in 1978. But I don't think anyone was actually a key player for two different programs in the Final Four.)

I think it's already been done.

Ok... You have it with Bob Bender.

That’s an interesting point OP but definitely a broken record that gets a “transfer era” qualifier every time it gets mentioned going forward. It’s like the scoring record before and after the three point line. Apples to oranges comparison.
