OT but our own Sydney McLaughlin is at it again.

You may not be old enough to remember him, but Edwin Moses had a win streak of nearly 100 over 7-8 years. She looks like she is about to be on a run like that. She is so far ahead of everyone else there isn't even a race.
Oh I remember Edwin well. He ran with shades on if I remember correctly. Yeah, I dont think she has a real rival any longer other than herself, not even Dalilah. Sydney is only 22. I expect her to run sub 51 at some point.

Funny, I was thinking about that yesterday. Dayton, OH native with Blvd by stadium named for him.

Heard her WR time in hurdles would have qualified her for the national 400m flat final !! Would have been hilarious to see her doing hurdles against others without.

Wish she'd give that a go in her spare time to see what she could do. Sure it would be great.
I think she plans to do just that. She has to get sub 51, really sub 50.75 to be competitive for a medal. I'd love to see it.

I wasn't sure where he was from, but the track at his Alma Mater is named after him. Over time it had deteriorated to the point of being almost unusable and he has led a effort to refurbish allowing Morehouse to host meets again.

Another 1 and done. She obviously had her eyes on money from day one. Just using the University.

If there was ever a UK athlete where "one and done" was appropriate it is Sydney. Track is a huge world wide sport, and she can make a killing right now, but most athletes have a relatively short career, she would have been completely wasting her time running against college kids. And she can still go to college if she chooses to do so one day.

Tiger, Jordan Spieth and a lot of other golfers only played a year or two of college golf for the same reason. I got no problem with her doing so as well.

EDIT: I just looked it up to confirm that Tiger graduated from HS in 1994, and quit Stanford after two years, and then won the Masters in what would have been his junior year in college, 1997. Why would he have stayed in college, and what would it have proved?
