They are up 32-29 on Northern Illinois. Is ANYONE worried about the game on Saturday?

I know we all mostly thought we'd handle UCLA, and saw how that turned out, but this game is on a neutral court and not on the road so crooked officiating won't be a factor. I think UK will win, but am sure OSU will play like Gods on Saturday for the first time all year.

Osu is extremely down this year. They don't have a deangelo Russell to bail them out either. We'll win, be close in the 1st. Runaway in 2nd.

I think we win by about 16. If we can make some shots outside and get Skal going though, it could be 25+

I'll be there cheering on the Bruins first, then the Cats!

Yeah, I'd love to see a UCLA-UK sweep on Saturday.

I tend to agree with you and the other poster...closer at the half. UK pulls away in the 2nd, ala ASU game last Saturday.

Can't take anybody for granted but don't see OSU beating us in Rupp or their place this year.

Yeah, probably not, even if it was at OSU. That said, road games always seem to be an issue for younger teams. I'm glad it is on a neutral court.

The officials did not beat us, It sounds crappy when other teams come to Rupp and use officiating as an excuse.

NIU is the only decent team OSU has beaten. They have a couple losses to low mid majors and a blow out loss to UConn. I'm not worried about them too much. Still a possibility they play lights out and UK plays off. However I doubt that will happen as UK has always shown up and played well on NBA courts under Cal. UK by double digits.

Never said they beat us because of the refs. If you do not think the refs screw UK over bigtime at UCLA, at UNC, at IU, at Vandy, etc, you do not know much about college basketball. There are other factors for many road losses (and were for UCLA this year) but sometimes it can be THE factor. I just like neutral court games OOC...fair for everyone. Means UK wins most of the time fair and square.

I pay more attention to the talent on a team's roster than I do their win-loss record especially this time of year and since teams always play their best against us, ohio state has a lot of talent. If we do beat them by 20 I'll consider it a very good win.

I know plenty about college basketball and know that we would have lost that night if Cal, Robic, and Matt Jones were the officiating crew. On that particular night, the better team won.

I get your post, but the difference is- UCLA had the horses. They have the talent to be good and that was a road game, not to mention they had revenge on their mind.

I am very concerned about how we'll play, but in a bigger picture sort of way. We should be able to handle the Buckeyes.

I disagree, Ohio St and UCLA's talent level are very close. I might give a slight edge to St. The thing that killed us against UCLA was their deep and talented backcourt, that's something I think the buckeyes lack.

Appreciate your take, but how so? Who do the Buckeyes have to match Parker/Welsh and Bolden talent-wise? I like Bates-Diop, Loving and Tate, but not as much as those two bulls and Bolden.

I think we match up better against Ohio St overall but the three you mentioned plus Lyle and a couple of top fifty freshmen compares to UCLAs talent imo. Lyle seems like a guy that could take off as the season goes on. I think our strengths begin with our backcourt and the Bruins have a similar, less hyped backcourt that matched our speed and took some of our guys by surprise.

In all fairness though, officiating sucks all the time in most games. It's sad that part of sports has gotten worse over the years.

With such a young team, and some of our flaws, we could lose to any team left on our schedule. They have alot of talent, and Matta is a very good coach. One thing that could help us in this game is, they are very young also.

I get that in general fans watch other teams and when they are beaten by some crappy team the conclusion is that we will have an easy time. I sure hope so. But, it is often about match-ups. Right now we have a problem with physical front lines and packed in defenses. So, it doesn't matter how Ohio State has performed against others, it is about Kentucky. Have we overcome that defense, will we see the second half team against Arizona State or the first half team (and that first half Kentucky team did have Lee and Ulis, and UCLA would have beaten that first half team on their home court, so no excuses).

For me, I want good competition and to see other teams play on what has been our weakness so Kentucky can improve. Will Skal break out as some point and the light bulb turns on? I liked what Cal said, "get fouled as you are a very good foul shot shooter." So will Skal invite contact, or continue to avoid, will he learn to hold his position for rebounding, will he play aggressive? Growing on these are what can make the team great and so playing a team with some talent is OK with me. Same is true about Ulis and Murray finding their shooting touch, other players stopping the easy drives to the basket on defense, etc.
