Either way, you had a hero/America's team/good guy (Oregon) vs. a villain/America's evil empire/bad guy (OSU or Alabama, going to be OSU).
Oregon is the better team, but OSU has the much better coach.

All good programs do. UK basketball has a lot of bandwagon fans, way more so since Cal got here.
I don't like either team, but I would rather see the University of Nike win as opposed to the Columbus Yankee Buckeyes.
I hated to see Urban Meyer go to Ohio State they like us in basketball have all the resources for a great team every year and he doesn't have to face the competition every game in Big 10 he did in SEC, I was a little surprised he got this far this fast. He was really sweating it in the first half but Bama did not have the powerhouse team they have had in years gone by they looked very beatable from the onset. I normally don't talk about other peoples fan bases but Ohio State folks are pretty obnoxious hated to see them win.
So let me get this straight. As UK fans, we like the SEC because we are in the SEC. But that can be said for any fanbase from any conference. What sets us apart is the tradition, excellence, and history that is the SEC.
So when it doesn't work out one year, we cheer for a school that hasn't worn the same uniform combination in 10 years? Over a traditional power that is getting no respect year after year?
24-0 in Big 10 season play the past 3 years, OSU deserves a shot and I will be rooting for them over the johnny-come-latelys.

Being a westerner for my entire adult life I'd a bit tired of the lack of respect Oregon gets and the arrogance of some SEC fans. I was for Oregon all the way, but now that it's Ohio St I'm even more for the Ducks. It seems stomping the daylights out of an undefeated, defending national champ FSU wasn't enough. If 'Bama had avoided the TO's the Buckeyes would be watching from home. That was the game I really wanted to see.
Disagree. O$U will not be able to stop the quack attack offense. Did you see how tired the FSU D was after one quarter? They have every bit the athletes (probably more athletes) and talent that O$U has and they got worn down fast. Urb has never seen anything like this and it's like preparing for UK's 2014-15 basketball team. You cant simulate it.
They will hang around for a bit because they will score but OU d is going to stop them more than they can stop the Ducks.

Agree 100% with OP. Ohio state is one of the most unlikeable teams and fanbases in the country, and their leader is a horse's ass. Please God, let Oregon win.
Duck fans are also obnoxious and very arrogant for a team that's never won anything and were worse than UK not all that long ago. I worked and lived in Oregon for many years and saw a lot of that as well as a major number of bandwagon fans since they started winning in the past decade. Before, it was tough to see that many people at all wearing UO gear outside of Eugene but then they started going big time with the Nike influx of cash and out came the fans from hiding to suddenly be big Duck fans. I've never been a Duck fan but I can't stand OSU either so I guess I will go with the Ducks since I have some friends who went there and a brother still living out there who likes the Ducks (he's a bandwagon fan though). Just not a title game I'm looking all that forward to.
I can't stand OSU so I hope the Ducks drill them. I live in Big 10 country and have to listen to the fans tell me how great the Big 10 is every year.
The Ducks have made steady upward progress for 25 years. Sure, Phil Knght has put a ton of money into the program. But its still in the middle of nowhere, has not very much in state talent and is grey, cold and rains almost the whole school year. It's an amazing success story and should be an inspiration to any program that struggles to be successful.
What I find most crazy is that Oregon played in and won the very first NCAA basketball final four.....against Ohio State!

I dare say Oregon has more speed than Ohio State. The Buckeyes made Alabama look slow. Ohio State is loaded with team speed

Of course, one could argue that Tennessee is so strong that it has enough power to hold Kentucky from being blown South. And that's a lot of strength b/c Ohio really, really, really blows hard.
