Orange Bowl: FSU vs Georgia

The fact Georgia was left out of the playoff is a joke IMO. I don’t GAF if Washington was Undefeated and Texas was 12-1. Georgia is a better team.
If they wanted a spot they should have beat Bama. If we're just giving places to who we think is better why even play the games? Just make the SEC title game the national title. The fact that FSU was left out is already bad enough. You can't put Bama in without Texas, because Texas literally beat them on the field. And you can't leave out two undefeated P5 champions.

Wow that is a useless game cause Georgia could play their entire 3rd string and still roll fsu. Gotta think that fans on both sides won't spend the money to watch this one in person. Fsu fans cause they know they will get smashed and Georgia fans because first its not for a national title and 2nd because there is no way fsu wins.

Georgia didn't win their conference. Apparently they are not the better team.
Could Washington Beat UGA or Bama? Texas did beat Bama, but in Wk. 2. Is Bama the same team as they were in Wk2?

By the committee's own rules, injuries count.

Texas lost to OU who was lower ranked. If you tell me the ACC is a better conference than the SEC, you don't know football.

Its crazy to me how this board dogged the ACC all season to belittle UL (and was 100% correct to do so) but today we have all these FSU and ACC lovers. Crazy world.

Look, if FSU has their QB I'd be griping with everyone else. But they don't. To anyone being objective, they aren't the same team. Period.

Does Clevland with without Lebron? How about the Pats without Brady (heck we have our answer on that one- NO)

A QB can make or break a team. FSU without Travis beat a terrible Florida and struggled with a UofL that UK put 38 on. And as we know, UK is sadly not that good.

I agree with you. It really is as simple as their qb getting hurt.

I boils down to 2 questions:

1) Is FSU the same team they were in Wk. 11?
2) Is Alabama the same team they were in Wk 2?

No and no.

I was disappointed to see alabama play so pathetic at auburn last week though. My buddy is an au fan though and says there is some serious weird stuff that happens when those 2 teams play at Jordan hare.

Bama beating UGA got them in. The commitee acknowledged that. No one else has beat UGA in 2 years.

And people can moan and groan that "the past doesn't count". It does here. Back to back defending champs, on a 600 plus winning streak. If you don't think that matters, I don't know what to tell you. Yes it does.

All that shows is that SEC shouldn’t have a Title game at all. Georgia went thru the SEC meat grinder undefeated and lost by 3 points. They absolutely had a better year than beating up a bunch a mediocre PAC 12 teams. If you don’t think Georgia wouldn’t have dominated the pac-12 or ACC IDK what to tell you. The ACC sucks, that’s why Florida State isn’t in, Injury and all that maybe but overall nobody respects the ACC. It’s a good thing the playoff is getting expanded because the SEC will show even more dominance and there won’t be this BS where better teams get left out.

This. They won’t compete with a backup or third stringer. And this NOT like when Bama had Tua and Hurts.

You looking in the mirror chump?
Your a clown and a fraud go suck off all your big 10 buds, again answer please how many titles last 25 plus years or for that matter any other conference big man, crickets bitch

I still think Bama getting in was right but I also think UGA should’ve too because everyone knows that the SEC is where it’s at….

It was obviously a year where the playoff made complete sense.

12 teams are clear possibilities with the 4 chosen, Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State, and the 5 two-loss teams.

That’ll be a bloodbath. Good Lord

Prayers sent….
Georgia will make the playoff committee look good and bad at the same time IMO. Florida State shouldn;t have been in and Georgia should have - but someone was going to get screwed. For all those against a playoff - this year proved a playoff should be in place - which I have said and supported for years! Since you have NIL and portal transfers more and more teams are going to become competitive and capable of making the playoffs in just a year or two - including UK if our coaching situation is stable.

Go Big Blue!

Bama got a miracle win on a hail-Mary against Auburn just a week ago. So yes probably the same team altho their QB is better.

It's just annoying how college football is the only sport where we don't decide things like this on the field. We make arguments about who we think would do what in whatever conference and then make playoff picks based on hypotheticals. The NFL doesn't leave out a 9-8 division champ because they were in a weak division. The NBA doesn't choose more playoff teams from the Western Conference because people feel like it's better.

Give me an objective playoff field. Leaving out a 13-0 P5 conference champion feels like the exact opposite of objective when two other playoff teams have one loss.

You keep saying on the field, but if FSU gets torched by UGA on the field, you won't change your mind? That seems a bit contradictory.

Because you're not understanding my argument. I'm not arguing FSU is one of the best four teams, but I think they were one of the four most deserving teams. Those are two different things. In my mind, going 13-0 in any P5 conference means you've earned a spot in the playoff.

Every single year but like one the semis have been incredibly uncompetitive. To me that doesn't mean the losers didn't deserve to be there. Just look at the NCAA tournament. The best team rarely wins it, but we don't say a 13 seed who makes a cinderella run to the FF is undeserving. That doesn't mean they were one of the best four teams, but they certainly deserved their place.

Any argument you can make that puts Bama into the playoffs is subjective. Going 13-0 in a P5 conference is an objective measure of success. Playoffs and champions should be based on objective measures of success.
