LOVE Coach Pope. He was hired w an empty cupboard. He brought in some really good players in the short time he had. Overall, it's been a very good season considering the injuries, along w how it all started.
Cal left us high and dry. Love him or not, that's what he did. In the long run, we'll be better off.
Coach Pope is battling against an SEC that has never been this good, w a team he quickly put together. He's learning how ridiculous SEC officiating is at the same time. He has learned what he needs for the future, and I have a feeling he is taking notes regarding how these other teams play. This is a year the SEC has been building toward the last few years, and Kentucky is dealing w it all at an inopportune time.
Because of how Cal recruited/coached, we are down, but I truly believe Pope sees all of this and will make adjustments as needed. With all of this in mind, Kentucky will regain dominance over the SEC over the next few years. Pope is not going to allow us to waller in the mud and be disrespected on the court.
Just my thoughts, 3 glasses of wine and one big pour of bourbon in.
