Only One Coach Can Unite Us....

Throw $12 mil a year at him and make him say no. He might be getting bored sitting around a booth being a talking head on TV.
Wright would bomb here too.

He left because of getting old and not accepting the changing landscape from VILLANOVA. He’d be eaten alive here.

He also had an extended disappointing period with high seeds. We wouldn’t give him time to build the way he prefers.

He had 4 Final Fours and 2 National Titles in his last 10 years, at VILLANOVA. Not sure where the disappointing period is.

it’s obviously Jay Wright. I say we try and ransom him into the job
I say we offer Jay Wright a new practice facility and Cals paycheck. Tell him if he wins a 2 titles and maintains above 75% win rate and is here for 10+ years that either the practice facility will be re-named for him or the court inside of Rupp. This is the type of stuff that entices already successful ppl…it’s about immortalization and legacy.

You have a handshake agreement or a secondary contract clause that he gets a 5 year guarantee no fire timeframe with an option to retire at the end of 5 years or opt into another 5 years of normal/traditional contract conditions. That is a legacy saving clause essentially where if it isn’t going how he hoped, he just retires again but none of this hottest stuff gets stirred up so it saves a little face.

That period at Nova from 01 to 13 would do him in here. He’s a career 69% win percentage guy. That would get crucified and that percentage includes his last good years.

Kidnap his wife and tell him we’re holding her until he brings us two national championships.
Too risky. If someone offered to kidnap my wife, depending on the day, id be thrilled. The best plan is to take his dog and hold it on a for sale horse farm that we then force him to purchase - and everyone knows once a coach owns a horse farm in Kentucky he has no choice but to coach the wildcats.
