Only if Ulis was a 4 year player

Obviously he's going to go pro this year, his measurements may have him drafted way lower than he should. But it's inevitable he goes pro and becomes at least a solid role player, he's the steal of the draft this coming year IMO. If he were a 4 year player though (this is his last season) he would go down as the greatest player in UK history. Wish that would happen so bad. Couldn't appreciate one player more, it doesn't effect us one bit having our HC ejected and that's entirely because Ulis is on our team. I think a title could very well happen with how open this tournament is going to be, and with a title on the line, there's not one player I could think of that I'd rather have in its hands. He's the best PG in the country, he's better than Valentine and Dunn.

I really really want him to leave UK with an NCAA title. Not a player I've ever wanted to win it more. He has an AD type impact on this team and deserves it. Hope he brings the trophy back to Title Town. Think the chances are very high, a lot higher than some of the 'experts' think and I'm not being biased when I say that. Go Cats!

I would draft him in first round. I would actually draft him in lottery.
I think he's pretty much the most guaranteed safest pick to become a good NBA player in this draft outside of Simmons, and honestly unless Simmons learns how to shoot (which he probably will) then he's not going to pan out how many say he's going to, he has the ceiling but if he doesn't learn how to shoot then he isn't going to be the great NBA all star people are claiming. I just can't see Ulis not being a very good NBA player somewhere.

I think he comes back next year. But I've thought that a lot recently about a lot of different players and have been wrong.

You could say that about a ton of guys though since Cal has been here. If AD was a 4 year player he'd be the greatest player in UK History (some argue he already is based on one season) and would have won 2-3 titles IMO. Same thing with a guy like Wall who was putting up better stats in the NBA his rookie year than Ulis is putting up this year against college guys.

I agree with you that if Ulis, Murry and WIllis keep on shooting well and playing well we have a better chance than most think to go far this March. The other players just need to fill their roles and get out of the way on offense for the most part. I still feel we need Poy to make a run, but I think we should just bring him off the bench if/when he returns. I like our current starting 5 pretty well.

If he stays for next season, I think he'll be here all four years.

I wonder what the coaches at Iowa and Michigan State think every time Ulis appears on the highlights. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: #3 will play in the NBA. This year's draft is exceptionally weak, like 2013 weak. He might seize the moment and go.

I don't know how Ulis can get much better. He started off the game a bit shaky today, but he finished in amazing fashion. Just played outstanding basketball. Almost always in control and always able to find an open player. Beautiful basketball.

You're right you can say that about a lot of players, and IMO at this point AD is the best player ever at UK. I said that the day he committed.

Iowa and Michigan state said we would recruit over Ulis. He's the type of kid that made his decision easier to pick UK. He made 6"6 Dozier his bitch.

CatinIL heading to ACE hardware to buy some rope that can be used to tie TU down and keep him from leaving UK...

I don't understand why you are saying Ulis is definitely gone after this year. Alot of mock drafts have him going late in second round which isn't gaurenteed money. He should declare after this year and go to the combine. If he can get a team to promise to draft him in the first round then leave.

I don't understand why people think a late second round projection isn't good enough for him to leave. He will get drafted, his draft stock really can't get much higher and he's not going to want to risk injury. I don't think he's leaving based on his draft stock, moreso because of his self confidence that he will make a roster and make good money. No way he stays IMO.

When he signed here, everybody thought he would be a 4 year player. Calipari on the other hand basically told him not to come here if he didn't expect to get to the NBA. Ulis came here because he knew it would be his quickest path to the next level. His stock won't get much higher, and I honestly can't think of what he needs to improve on. When you're playing like he has been lately what does "better" look like? That would be scary.

The one thing he could do is start the season shooting better which would make him look like a better shooter stats wise by years end. That may be nitpicking though.

I could really see a team like the Spurs taking a chance on him in the late first round maybe. They seem to be one of those organizations who make genius decisions like that. I know they have patty mills but I feel like Ulis will be a better pro and I could just see that being a ridiculously good fit for him. There's a spot on every pro roster for a Tyler Ulis, I promise that. No one is going to out work him. And you can't teach that kind of basketball IQ.

Tyler is great! But don't sell Kenny Payne short either. JMHO!

If we somehow pull it off and win the whole thing this year...he is gone.

If we make a decent run to an Elite Eight or Final Four deal then no way Tyler Ulis leaves with the chance to win it all and command the type of powerhouse we bring in next year. Can you imagine Tyler and Bam in a pick and roll lob to the rim and slam all day long type of game?

Ulis is an interesting player in the 1 and done era...and he's such a competitor. I could see him wanting to come back and win a title with a stronger cast next season. Assuming Lee, Brisco and other supporting cast members stay with Willis and Hawkins senior leaders we would be as good as 2015.

Don't think it affects his draft status either way because of his stature... Love Ulis but he's not going to be top 10, or even lottery this year or next when you consider the unknown 5-6 European players teams draft & stash.

He's a winner...didn't come here to only be a millionaire like others, he came here to win big in college first, then go to the league when he's ready. Hope I'm right. Like to see him set career assist record before the jump...and he's the most fun Cat to watch play since Wall.

He's gone....

why do people dream of something that's very unlikely. He should be in discussion for POTY. How many times have you heard of POTY returning to school?

I would put him around #2 in the running, and if he continues to play this hot. He might catch up depending on how buddy finishes it up.

If Tyler is on track to get his degree next year, I would love to see him come back for his junior season. If he comes back for next season he could become the Randall Cobb of UK basketball.
