It is tough being a UK fan, but about a zillion of us have to do it. At this time last year we were on the edge of our seats every game knowing that 40-0 was on the table and hoping that game after game that the bubble didn't burst. This year we are on the same edge but hoping that the team gets better, we find a way to win a few games on the road and that someone in the front court steps up with some solid play.
The wins were great last year but the truth be told there wasn't a lot of joy last season, it was more a case of meeting or living up to expectations, which in the end we didn't do.
If you go back to the Davis team, by this time we knew they were pretty good and would make a good run in the NCAAT, we were just about to the point that we knew it would be a shame if they didn't win it all
Back to this season, if we can pick up enough wins to get a decent seed and win a couple of games in the NCAAT then (based on what we see of this team right now)we can say it wasn't a bad year. All that may be easier said than done depending on how we play the next 6 games.
Cal has set himself and the program(and us by association) to be held to a different and higher standard. If there are responses to this post some of them will play the selfish card, but I disagree it is who and what the program and we are in the Cal era.
