Once a day I think about having last years team, this year

Could you imagine the wrecking ball we'd have? No team in America would come close. Duke is down, Wisconsin is awful, UConn is a joke, everyone is weak this year. It would almost be boring.

2009-10 was pretty weak too and we had that great Wall team. You can never be 100% sure.

I agree if those guys were here this year it would be very relaxing, but as the old saying goes if a cow gave butter you wouldn't have to churn.. Kinda like Barkley saying the other night he wished his moma would have had him 15 years later....these guys making some serious money.

Or next years team this season, but next year Duke will be just as good or maybe better than us. We're kinda unlucky because when we are great, like last year, there were a handful of elite teams (Duke, Wisconsin, Arizona). Teams that we were slightly better than during the regular season, but were actually better than us at the end of the year. Next year, same thing with Duke and possible Michigan St. if they get Josh Jackson. There are no elite teams this year. College Basketball is as down as it's ever been. Put last year and next years team up against the field this season, and they roll to the title.

It is tough being a UK fan, but about a zillion of us have to do it. At this time last year we were on the edge of our seats every game knowing that 40-0 was on the table and hoping that game after game that the bubble didn't burst. This year we are on the same edge but hoping that the team gets better, we find a way to win a few games on the road and that someone in the front court steps up with some solid play.

The wins were great last year but the truth be told there wasn't a lot of joy last season, it was more a case of meeting or living up to expectations, which in the end we didn't do.

If you go back to the Davis team, by this time we knew they were pretty good and would make a good run in the NCAAT, we were just about to the point that we knew it would be a shame if they didn't win it all

Back to this season, if we can pick up enough wins to get a decent seed and win a couple of games in the NCAAT then (based on what we see of this team right now)we can say it wasn't a bad year. All that may be easier said than done depending on how we play the next 6 games.

Cal has set himself and the program(and us by association) to be held to a different and higher standard. If there are responses to this post some of them will play the selfish card, but I disagree it is who and what the program and we are in the Cal era.

I would like to have last years team every year, Hell, who wouldnt. You would win NCAA titles 7 out of 10 years

If we had last years team this yr we would still be looking at teams like kansas, Michigan state, Oklahoma, or unc. Granted I think we would beat any of those soundly, but as we all know it takes just one bad shooting night.

Last years team with all the talent in the world couldn't make it to the championship game. There would be no guarantee they could do it this year.

There are too many things to go wrong to win them all even with all of the talent last year. That said, if the NCAAS were in a 7 game playoff format, I have zero doubt that we would have beaten Wisc and Duke. If for no other reason because we had more bodies to throw at a series. I don't want to bring back last years team, I just want to see this years team play like there is no tomorrow, every game. Maybe WE could play like every game is our Superbowl. We say accuse other teams of wanting to beat us that badly like it is an insult. I am more insulted when our team doesn't play that way. I know they are kids and it is a long season. Hope has not been lost we are just in a rough patch and I think they will step up a notch. I don't know what our ceiling is this year.
