The Cats played very well, or we don't win that game. Their 2 bigs neutralized our bigs all night long. Their bigs were 6-9 each. You know about their 3 guards. If Moody had not cramped up, we might not have won that game. Willie grabbed 12 boards. That was huge. Great game, Cats.

Bottom line: We found a way.

Good luck to anybody else trying to repeat Ole Miss' performance last night. You lose 99% of games in which the opponent plays like that.

I was at the game last night and I know Old Miss. shot 50% in the 1 half. What did they shoot over all? I know they hitting just about everything last night.

The cramping could have been an indication as the to the adrenaline flowing in this game.

I saw alot of grabbing, clawing at the ball and slapping down every time one of the UK bigs had the ball. Ole Miss' strategy was to collapse in the middle and create havoc forcing turnovers, which happened more than once. UK bigs need to quit bringing the ball down and instead, make dunks and use the backboard to make shots without fancy moves. It almost looks like they are posing for Sportscenter, instead of trying to make a shot. And where were the ally oops last night? No movement on offense towards the basket or help defense. Get more active on both offense and defense and stop trying to be "the man." jmo

The name of the game from here on out is getting Johnson, WCS, Lyles and Towns to be more aggressive underneath and fight for rebounds and put backs. UK has the depth to outlast anyone on the front court. They need to use that to their advantage.

Ole miss playec fantastic , I can't imagine them playing any better . They hit 17 threes correct .? Many many off the dribble fading away . .

The Rebels of Ole Can't Miss did play the game of their lives and still lost. That is a credit to the young men of UK.

However, ESPN doesn't want to give Ole Miss or UK their due instead saying UK slept walked thru the game.

Anyone that watched that game from start to finish knows that it was simply an outstanding college basketball game that UK won at the end of OT.

No, they hit 9/17 3-balls. Their team line on shooting was 29/59 (49.2%) 9/17(52.9%) & 19/22(86.4%). Their shooting % was better from the 3 than their overall shooting %. We played a great game to win that thing.

Maybe the cramping was because they relied on him to much.

He was a dead ringer for Anthony Hickey.

Ole Miss hit the threes or pitched in a runner when they needed them. They did play an outstanding game. However, I would like to see this Kentucky team impose their will on the other team. I know that is not always possible, but in most home games with energy they should be able to. I will fall back on the excuse (and that is probably all it is) that, I think, Aaron pointed out: We had not played a game in 10 days. As a matter of fact, we had played only one game in 16 days. We could have used a directional school on Jan 3 before heading into a conference opener.

Nah .. UK shot 2-20 the last 13 minutes of the first half. Down the stretch (last 3:34) we made ZERO fgs and went 2-7 from the stripe with a 5 point lead. That's why it was close. They played great but hardly the game of their lives! We did sleepwalk through most of the game.

UK did sleep walk through the game. Don't know why anyone would have a problem with that. Ole Miss will never play that good again and that Moody kid probably won't score in double figures the rest of the year. Rupp just does very nice things for visiting teams.

Yes they did and you can't help but respect the game they played. They was not bitches at all. They probably won't have the same kind of performance if we play them again, I think our defense will get better and they won't score as much next time but if moody don't cramp up next time and nobody is able to stop him again then things could go awry. little quick maneuverable guards has been cal's weakness in his tenure here at UK and he needs to address this issue and find the remedy We need Devan Downey's and Moody's to suit up for us here at UK

They played out of their minds. And they are not as good as they played -really.
You see teams like Ole Myth get up for us. But for us only.
Nobody else.Never Duke, Florida, UNC, nobody in the top 10. Only us.

And if I was an opponent coach-if my team has the ability to play that way only when they play UK.
They NEED THEIR ARSES KICKED BECAUSE THEY NEVER PLAY THAT WAY THE REST OF THE SEASON OR EVEN IN THE TOURNEYS UNLESS ITS AGAINST THE BIG BLUE.

In other words they slack the rest of the season and its proven in every game they don't play UK.

we played very below average especially on defense and ole miss was absolutely ridiculous (lucky imo) and they still only almost beat us.

Our defense was bad -- especially in the first half. True Ole Miss hit a lot of tough shots, but they were also getting a lot of open looks.

I also thought our offensive execution was bad. Not much movement. Nothing offensively from our big guys. Fortunately, we were hitting our three point jumpers.

Ole Miss played a great game. We didn't play horrible, on offense at least, but it wasn't one of our better performances.

We were fortunate to win it. I'm just hoping it was a complete fluke and our defense gets back to being stifling our next time out.

UK was rusty from the 10-day layoff. They came out and hit shots early, then Cal put in the second group which played terrible and allowed Ole Miss to regain its composure. Then you have that kid throwing it in from 25 feet out and our bigs losing the ball every other trip down the court and voila, we were vulnerable.

I'm happy with the way we kept fighting and pulled a Houdini at the end.
