Oklahoma shortest #1 ever?

It was a great game. Oklahoma is really good and will tough on a neutral floor. Hield might be POY.

But Iowa St. at home is exceptional. They could do some harm in March.

Never heard of that rule. Why the hell don't more teams run that play? Unreal

I keep hearing every year to watch out for Iowa State in March. They along with Villanova, Syracuse and Georgetown are always on my early out list when filling out a bracket.

Can't believe you guys don't remember all the times we were #1 from 78-2010 or so and got best the next time out.
It was the curse of the #1 for us.
In '09 we were ranked 1 Obama said hello and South Carolina hung up the phone on us.

I remember Pearl's Tennessee team beat Cal's Memphis team then turned number one... After that... a loss to Vandy.

Worst has to go to us. #1 and same day get blasted by 20 in a game that wasn't that close.

Gators in Rupp was 2003. I believe the game stated with UK winning the tip and Erik Daniels throwing down an oop from half court about a half second later. Feeding frenzy from there on out. Florida fans came on this board and said they out scored us in the second half. Good times.

Sounds like the scene from a good movie.

"Excuse me, Mr. President. Your ... ahem ... friends have been called away ... ah ... unexpectedly." [click]

Please explain. I didn't get to see the games last night.....TIA
Just an inbounds play where you pass it to your own man out of bounds. Oklahoma's defender jumped over and touched the ball (which resulted in a automatic technical). I can remember BCG trying this play a few times.

A whole bunch of these pups were not even born in 78'!

I'm assuming they are meaning the last inbounds play. Iowa St inbounding against OU pressure. They start with one guy inbounding and have another guy run out of bounds and throw the ball across the baseline to him. OU defender reaches in and hits the ball. OK gets called for the T for hitting the ball while the second inbounder is out of bounds.

Gators were #1 for a day back in 04 I believe. Remember when Walsh, Robeson brought their cocky azzes to Rupp and got beat like a step child?

It was the 2003 season and yes I do remember...I was at that game, as a soon to be graduating senior :D

Ah yes, that makes sense. But if that's the case, I think an earlier poster may have been mistaken with the BCG comment. Clyde's favorite cheap end of game desperation move was to try and draw a charge on the inbounds play, i.e. as the player out of bounds runs the baseline, running the defender into a stationary pick.

So, you liked the Great Recession. I was sure someone must have.
You're so, so dumb.

1) We're still in a terrible recession

2) You're one of those morons who believes adding two 20 hour a week jobs at the expense of one full-time job means you have added 1 quality job to the work force?

:flush:

Anyone still supporting Obama after the last 7 years is either trolling or mentally retarded.

1) No. The economy is growing and has grown since 2009. Recessions are contractions in the economy.
2) No.
Anyone critical of Obama after supporting Bush is simply tribal in their POV. Anyone who finds coherence in current Republican economics is simply tribal in their POV.

There's an old joke headline from the days when W was taking over from Clinton, "Thank God our long nightmare of peace and prosperity is over." It isn't that far off from Republican thinking. Consider the protest signs, "Keep the government out of my Medicare". And the recent actual tweet from the Jeb! campaign that said he knew his brother kept us safe. Which was accompanied by a picture of W on a heap of 9/11 rubble. We've gone through the looking glass somewhere.

And we should take this to the Paddock.

Is this really the right place to be talkin' politicks? I thought the idea of sports is to get away from complicated things like that...

KU was #1 for one day, January 17 1994. Then they lost at home to a garbage Kansas State team. Who's student newspaper wrote the next day "KU isn't even #1 in the state"

(I remember the date because it was my 19th birthday and I was there)

OU will be a real tough out in March. They have great guard play and can score from 4 spots on the floor. They also have the second best player in the nation behind Simmons. Hield is the real deal. Kruger is an outstanding coach that has been there before so I wouldn't be surprised if they make the final 4.

addn'l note....Walsh had the long wavy hair of which he said he'd cut off if Gators lost. Gators lost, he never cut his hair, he crawfished on his word!

Haha, what a moron. I don't care what your political preference is, but to call someone dumb and proceed to state something that is 100% false as a reason why, is just stupid. The US is not in a recession, and it hasn't been for years. That is a fact - not something that's even debatable. I can't stand people who believe what they want to believe no matter what the facts are.

Are you talking about GDP numbers? Yes it has grown repeatedly. The GDP also counts growth when the gig borrows money and when the money supply is increased in the market. Ie QE 1-3.
The average wage has decreased a good deal over the last few years. To be honest this is just the system of the federal reserve. That's why are forefathers were totally against a central bank owned by private entities that control the money.
