although Kenny Walker is in the discussion.
I had forgotten those things, but I was also pretty young then.As a small forward? I don't think so. In fact, Walker played his best ball at the center position in 85-86.
But, fwiw, I know Hall did him at the 3 during the 84 season, but that was a season spent out of position for him. .
See, I couldn't remember if Mash was a 3 or 4..
I was going to say the same thing but then I went to his Wikipedia page and it lists him as a SF. IAs a small forward? I don't think so. In fact, Walker played his best ball at the center position in 85-86.

Kevin Grevey was a favorite also.So many, right off the top of my head I would say Jack Givens. He is a Kentucky boy, like me, and his performance against Duke in 78 NCAA championship is one of my all time favorite memories. The GOOSE!
Wikipedia has him listed as a SF. If it's on the internet it has to be true.mash was a college 4. so was prince i guess
mercer and rhodes both looked like all-time greats as freshman. i guess mercer really didn't disappoint except as a pro
nash? johnny cox? were they 3s?
I thought he was a 4.I'm surprised more people haven't said Prince. Wasn't he a 3?
I thought he was a 4.
Having Kenny Walker dropped in a SF discussion has derailed the thread.
There isn't an iota of SF to Walkers game. You could make a case for Antoine Walker much easier than Kenny.
Don't think it's derailed the thread at all, but that is on me for not remembering correctly. He was SF in NBA.Having Kenny Walker dropped in a SF discussion has derailed the thread.

Kenny Walker and Mashburn and Hayes were certainly college 4's.
Not sure if I'd call Prince a 3 or 4, or DA a 2 or 3. Got to also consider Givens, Grevey, Riley, Mercer, MKG. I think I might go with Prince.
I always thought Prince was a 3, but it's been so long ago, I remember he played a lot out on the perimeter(so do Tarhole fans) but maybe that's what you'd call a stretch 4 today.I thought he was a 4.
