after SEVEN years 120-100 (.545). You've taken your team to 2 NCAA tournaments in that time.

Your state produces a lot of top talent. Your pay is Top 35 at 1.7M.

Am I getting my money's worth?

If I'm an AD that's serious about basketball, no. But of course, there's other factors to consider, like where the team is actually headed.

but off of what you're giving there, no.

In the words of Trump, you're fired.

This sounds exactly like Crean AND Pastner, although I suspect Pastner has a better record being the top dog in a mid major conference.

To me, it depends on the school. Being above 500 may be good at some schools. Is it a tough school to recruit to? Does it have academic hurdles like Vandy? Are you in a really good conference? So, the answer is, maybe or maybe not. At UK duh, at Memphis, no, Northwestern, yes.

Depends on trajectory and what he inherited. Certainly could be a yes, if the tourneys were the last two and he started at a mess.

edit: obviously not at a blue blood

Let's add on to those statistics. Not only seven years and only two tournaments. No tournament wins. The other years were still good? No, only one NIT. Seven years and only three postseason tournaments.

Yeah, pure luck that guy still had a job. Luck being he is at Georgia and no one cares. Shocked that he makes 1.7 million dollars. That buys a whole lot of tackling dummies. I can only assume he has some years left on the contract and they don't want to buy him out. They're playing the LSU and Missouri game of hoping someone hires him off their hands.

Yeah, Mark Fox...120-100..you guys are smart!! Auburn lost its PG for the year, and they still beat up on Georgia.

Living in this state, basketball is simply embarrassing in Georgia. The last highlight was Mercer beating Duke in the NCAAT.

Fox has plenty of experience on his roster, but he came from Nevada. How is he going to recruit the south? A few kids went right past him on the way out of state. He just got an extension last year...must have been because how well his team competed against us in Athens.

I knew someone would say Johnny Jones....if I didn't know, I would have said him as well.

It really is amazing how mediocre Georgia has been. The 24-9 record Tubby put up his final year is STILL the best in school history, and they haven't been to the Sweet 16 since 96. Most SEC schools have at least had some kind of sustained run of decent success, 5 year or more periods where they were consistently making the tournament, and so on, but not Georgia. They have NEVER made the tournament 3 years in a row.

All of which helps explain how Fox still has a job. Not that he's been much better, but we're talking about a very low standard.
