Ok, be very worried...BleacherRpt has found a team we should fear in the tourney

ehh - Not afraid

Haven't seen Valpo play this year, but to tell you the truth I wouldn't be worried to much if they were in our bracket.

Teams used to look to defeat us via defense -- pack it in. Now, they want to get our bigs in trouble. So, yeah, any team with mobile bigs that is good enough to be in the tournament will be hard for UK to beat.

Actually, having seen Valpo in last year's NCAA's (they should've beaten Maryland) and a few times this year, they are a very good team. They have tons of experience, some depth and an elite big man who will possibly be a future 1st rounder (Alec Peters). Not a team I'd want to see in a 4/13 game. And don't get me wrong, this is UK, we're not scared of anyone, but this is a team I want to root for and would rather them face someone like IU.

In fact, would there be any better way for IU to lose than in a 5/12 or 4/13 game to a mid-major in-state rival?

U can bet any team that would even remotely seem to give us fits, the committee will put us on a collision course.

To be honest, just about any team that we play has the ability to beat us, with about 15 of those capable of winning it all. However, if we can get Willis back, healthy, I like our chances with anyone.

Totally agree with you, this just seems like one of those years where anyone can be beat on any given night against almost any other team in the tourney. Seems way unpredictable and could be very fun tournament even though we are capable of being one of those teams that could be beaten by someone we normally wouldn't really think much about.

Yes, one of those years. I guess we now know how it feels to be a KU fan, since they can, and usually do, get beaten by those type teams.

The author of this piece seems to have a love affair with Arizona. He says they have a deeper back court and are playing better than UK right now.
He must be watching different games than I am.
Every time I watch Arizona I almost fall asleep. They do nothing that well and they play a very boring style. I see nothing that leads me to believe they could hang with UK.
Seems like every year Arizona and Iowa State are talked about like they are great teams and every year they fail in the tournament.
When will they learn?

Was anyone able to get it to flip to page 7? The last page I could view was UNC on page 6. Who was on page 7?

Nobody in this tournament better take any opponent lightly. The only good thing about losing to crummy teams like Auburn and OSU is that Cal can remind our players that we're not good enough to overlook anybody.

Watching Valpo right now, actually.

My takeaways:

False alarm, nothing to fear.

There is always a collision course, we just don't which one yet. The only way to avoid that is if we are the 69th team > I prefer to play the toughest team and leave no doubt. Isn't that why we play the tourney?

We've had to play the toughest teams enough in the NCAAT the last few years. I'm ready for a Duke style bracket.
