Ohio St 0-15 from 3 tonight

Yup. Never fails... Dudes were jacking up and hitting everything against the Cats.

They were making 3s with their eyes closed against us.

0-15 is how the Buckeyes have shot the 3 all year in most games except one and of course we know which game that was going 9/18 from 3. Most of those 5 or 6 threes in 1st half vs. Wildcats were Prayers that the Buckeyes threw up there. They had 37 points in each half and that is the most offense the Buckeyes have displayed this year!

Don't it make you sick, I always think we don't guard against the 3 point shot good enough, except maybe last year, but yeah it always happens, they come in and shoot out of their mind

I think it affected how we played. How could it not? When you have been told by your coaches that an opponent is more dangerous inside than from outside and you prepare to defend them that way, then the game starts and they're making three from all over the place, it totally affects your game. Look at what happened to us against West Virginia in 2010.

team A sucks
team A plays their best game of the year against UK and beats them
fade team A in their next game, easy money

Whether a team shoots the ball well or not, still have to play winning basketball. This team minus the Duke and second half of ASU has not played winning basketball.

Regardless of how they shot Saturday it doesn't change how we played. We sucked.
I agree that it doesn't change how we played (I had actually been unhappy with the way we played in a few of our wins earlier, though I didn't complain), but had they shot their season average from 3 we win the game even with the terrible effort.

Of course, it never fails. Teams shoot light outs against the Cats and like crap after.

Our 3 point defense wasn't terrible......heck, they even made an off balance shot from 40 feet out to end the half.
Hey uhhh, I have 10 acres for sale in South Dakota. Property is right on the ocean. I believe you are the right buyer for this excellent opportunity. You in?

Nice smart-a$$ reply there, jeff. Shooting absolutely DOES matter; it's pretty much the definition of basketball. A horrible team can beat anybody if they can sit out near mid-court and drill 3 after 3. Then you make that team a power 5 conference team and have them make a high % of shots, most of which were contested, and you have yourself a win. Sure, UK could have played better, but to say it was ALL Uk's fault they lost is bs. Watch the game again and tell me OSU wasn't lucky to have made all those shots.

This angers me more than anything. To see a team go bonkers on us and then forget to play basketball the week after cause they are hungover from the Ticker Tape Parade in their city... Infuriating.

It's why we, fans and team, should NEVER again talk about a big-conference school being mediocre. Lots of people wrote off OSU before the game, but some of us knew better. We knew they were miffed about not being good enough for Cal and Kentucky. It's more than just the "Superbowl Effect" at this point.

I think KSR made it very clear with data that when teams played with us, most didn't play their best game. Their shooting percentage were below average. OSU's shooting percentage was blow their average too when they played with us.

With a large sample size they shouldn't be hitting a higher percentage or it says something about your perimeter defense. But there are nights when one guy hits and the next guy hits and suddenly everyone has confidence. Don't believe me? Watch the comeback game at LSU from 94. I bet we hit 10 threes in the last 12 minutes of that game. Brassow, Delk, McCarty, Harrison, Ford...guys were just chucking them up one after the other and swish. One year later not one person could hit one against UNC in the Elite Eight.

No excuses. OSU is garbage. Yeah they shot well but we let them take the game to us. What happened to the offensive movement and confidence we played with against Duke? Until Skal produces we need to replace him in the lineup. At least protect the basket and aggressively block shots.

Duke was a very early season game and teams have seen how to defend us since that game. We also scored a ton of points in transition that no longer are available with poor rebounding and sagging defenses. It is true that Ohio State hit a bunch of 3's but it was Kentucky fumbling the ball over and over on offense because of the sagging defense that cost us the game. How about all the 3's Murray hit, that won't always be at that rate? The team overall played lousy.

The problem with that logic is that that means UK plays great D most of the time, and that means giving Coach Cal credit...something many on here do not wanna do.

On the OSU game, they didn't shoot great overall, but they shot VERY WELL in the 1st half and an unrealistic percent from 3 for the game at 50% 9/18. I saw where the KSR guy acted like 27 points from 3 did not make a difference in the game...I'm pretty sure that can make a difference in a close game. To be fair though, thanks to Murray's heroics we hit an unrealistic percentage from 3 as well. So I guess in that sense it evened out from 3.

So according to you every single shot that OSU hit was a lucky heave from mid court. Are you kidding me? Our defense was so bad that it was like a shooting drill for OSU, all of their 3 pointers were wide open. I have no earthly idea what game you were watching but if you think "most of those shots were heavily contested" than you have no freakin' clue what you're looking at, you obviously didn't watch the game. Those weren't luck, when a shooter is left wide open like that it really isn't that hard to believe that he will make a large percentage of those shots.
So they had one lucky shot go in just before halftime, I guess that means every shot was all luck. No skill what so ever huh?
Well maybe our guys should have made sure they took the last shot before halftime instead of leaving 5 seconds on the clock.
Come on homer, tell me more about how it was all luck that made all those threes for Ohio State.
