ExactlyThe smartest thing for the punter was to take the safety, but it worked out - rarely does for us, so I’ll take it.
The smartest thing was to at least punt it out past the 20-yard line like he did. Make them score a TD. Their kicker has the leg to kick a 60+ yarder. He takes a safety we definitely lose in a UK kinda way on a last second FG.The smartest thing for the punter was to take the safety, but it worked out - rarely does for us, so I’ll take it.
Yes, if you can do that, but it was a hell of a risk to even try it.The smartest thing was to at least punt it out past the 20-yard line like he did. Make them score a TD. Their kicker has the leg to kick a 60+ yarder. He takes a safety we definitely lose in a UK kinda way on a last second FG.
Very true. Out of all the scenarios, I think taking a safety for me would be last. Hell I woulda handed the guy the ball in the endzone to let them score a TD before taking a safety and kicking/punting it back to them. Not that we’d do much with the last possession but theoretically. Last second FGs are the worst. Maybe not as bad as a bad snap to lose the game lol, but still.Yes, if you can do that, but it was a hell of a risk to even try it.
The ol' hike the snap over the punters head all the way to the two yard line...ahhh... you know the rest.C'mon man, it was a designed play!
