Off Topic: Burrow 275M

Unless you are curing cancer, nobody should make that much. Ridiculous money in sports these days.
If that money isn't going to Burrow, it would just end up in the owner's pockets, who are already billionaires. Are you saying no one should be making as much money as the NFL owners?

That money is there to pay Burrow because that is just how freaking much money these NFL teams make. If these contracts hurt the owner's bottom line, then these contracts wouldn't happen.

Yep. NFL makes an absurd amount of money.

I don't understand sports fans, that obviously watch the games and fuel the machine, that bitch about the people making money sharing it with those that create the money. The people that are working on curing cancer either work for the American Cancer Society or a University. Do the people that bitch about players' salaries donate to these type charities? Do they bitch about their taxes that go to the University? It is hard to pay someone working on curing cancer that much unless people are willing to buy tickets and pay $10 a beer to watch them do their job.

Call your uncle Bernie Samders and complain. Joe Borrow deserves every dime he earns. Talking about a guy who has done everything the right way and works his tail off to be that good. He has arguable increased the value of the Bengals at a rate a lot higher than when he was drafted.

Now they end up letting major players go. If these guys had any brains then they would take less so that they could have the best team possible. It's ignorant and selfish IMO.

It's gotten ridiculous in pro sports. The cheapest Bengals ticket on Ticketmaster through the rest of the year is $130. The majority though are over $200. How many people can even afford to take their family to games like that at $520-$1,000 dollars for a family of 4 to sit in obstructed view nosebleed seats for 1 freaking game? These high salaries have to be contributing to that. It wouldn't surprise me if one of these days in the future, there will be some billion dollar players with only millionaires in the stands because of it. Unless the whole system comes crashing down before then.

The Dallas Cowboys last year make $1.1 Billion and had an overhead -(Salary, Stadium Maintenance, Front Office and Coaches Salaries and other operating cost of $500 Million) … Jerry Jones pretty much clear $600 Million annually off the Cowboys and yet ppl complain about players salaries. If the owners can’t afford it they wouldn’t pay it and they are obligated to give the player 47% of overall revenue according to the CBA

No it called supply and demand and in reality the owners make the bulk of their money off television and now they are about to hit the motherload with their partnership with the Gambling industry …. The projected NFL Salary in a couple of years is around $308 Million a team … and that is due to that partnership and the incoming TV Money.

The NFL is printing money period … the owner if they don’t pay their players would jusr pocket it and buy another luxury yacht.

Yep, it is nuts. We got LL tickets to Carolina game at PBS last year. Tickets for wife/me were around $450-$500 IIRC. Lunch before, drinks, buying stuff for kids...I am sure we spent close to $800.

If I wanted to take my kids (4) for same experience that would have cost close to $2k.

Fortunately my kids love FC Cinci and that experience is far less expensive.

NFL in person isn't the best experience for kids anyhow.

Sad thing is there is more money in not curing cancer as it creates lifelong patients, or in that case extend the life just enough to drain insurance and personal wealth. Makes me sad because my Father just got diagnosed with lung cancer.

He didn’t earn a penny of it today. Home field advantage in the playoffs is big and Burrow getting no reps until game 1 the last two years is really hurting them.

Id pay Burrows 300 million to come to TN. He is absolutely worth every penny to keep him n Cincy.

If anyone can win a Super Bowl n Cincy it's JB.

With salary cap, small market, Brown family history, and Burrow already having lost a season to inury? Sounds like a move that will handcuff team for a long time

This just showed up in my news feed. I don't really watch the NFL so didn't see the game.

One day after signing his record-breaking contract extension, Burrow threw for a career-low 82 yards in a 24-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. He completed 14 of 31 passes for no touchdowns and no interceptions.

This reminds me of when we found out Stoops got the new contract extension before laying an egg against Vandy.

The 10th-year coach, who is earning $6.35 million this season, signed the new deal Nov. 11, a day before the Wildcats fell 24-21 to Vanderbilt.
