True to an extent, but if it’s true what’s being reported that this extension gives him a top 5 salary, that significantly raises the bar for what someone would have to offer to pry him away. I would say this essentially takes him off the market for this cycle of the carousel.

Josh Heird understands that if he screws up 2 BB hires in a row he's gone. He will put the athletics department in as much debt as he has to to get homerun hire. If he wants Oats he will outbid Alabama....the only question is does Oats want to take on that disaster ?
