I think there’s a plan here brother. Seriously, I think this might end up being just fine.
Especially with this news, there couldn't be a much better situation for transfer cornerbacks than UK.
Stoops has performed well overall, no doubt, but this is a personnel area that has been wildly mismanaged.

Lol. No "plan" here. We don't plan to lose #1 CB in Juco bc of a couple possible transfers.
I believe there is. And you know as well as I do that Stoops and staff aren’t about to get left empty handed and will certainly upgrade. It’s literally what they do man.
No....no they don't run off top Jucos that are already committed AND signed. Bet you anything this is his decision 💯.

Seems more like an academic issue. He signed so I think the plan was to be here. We will see if he goes to another P5 or back to Juco.
Which is odd because it's been managed pretty darn well up to this point judging from the numbers of guys on NFL rosters these days. I think that's our next big hurdle towards greatness, build enough depth and scatter out the classes so that we don't have mass losses to a particular position like this again.

You accept the commitment of the young man and THEN look at the academics to see if the credits transfer. You don't wait. Strike while the iron is hot.
By thorough you mean following him around his Juco campus to make sure he is doing his part to get eligible? I'm confused by your statement.
If he wanted to be here & we wanted him on the team but it just NOW Jan 12th discovered he can't qualify academically, what an embarrassing failure by the recruiting support staff & admission depth.
This is a pretty big failure on our new DB coach Collins. Who had already lost a committed juco to Miss St late. Really looking like a very very weak link on this staff.
Was Collins the lead recruiter for both or either? Thought Buffano was the JUCO guy.
Not to me. He's so godawful we'd do as well to play 10 people. At least then we'd at least know what we're dealing with rather than putting one hopeless player out there.
The only oddity to me is the fact he wants to play another year somewhere. He spent all year half assing and running from contact. I figured he was just ready to be done with football

Maybe but any time you're relying on the emotional decision making of a 18-20 year old, nothing is concrete. That's why recruiting has to be the most exhausting and frustrating aspect as a coach,
He gave the credit for his decision to God. So the plan must be God's and we know He makes no mistakes.
I think it’s time to fill up a very large bag with cash and go shopping down at LSU. We’ve had good luck there.
Long time before the season, tons of players going to transfer over the next 6 months. Plenty of time and options.
True that but it'd be nice to get guys in here now so they can go thru spring practice. Of course, Levis missed last spring but the sooner you get guys on campus the better.
Academics lol. Let’s just get rid of the term student athlete because they are semi-professionals now. It’s a free for all now. Play the kid if he wants to be here.

Not real impressed with him either. Both of em, on or off the field. The corners & safeties were a far cry from what they were under Cink & Dean Hood. Still wish we would have asked Hood how much it would take to get him to stay.
I would think if it is an academic thing. It's more along the lines of, he needed a certain grade or grades for a cumulative GPA, at least at this point in the game. Usually the classes that don't transfer are known about early on, seems we had one of those rumored last year. Taj Harris was supposedly not an academic deal either but he still hasn't signed anywhere and he's up against the same deadline to make it for Spring.
Probably grades didn’t transfer. Same as the WR a couple months ago

True we had Edwards, Lonnie make in one year...Westry has been in and out and Baity had a cup of coffee maybe.
But Bossman Fat and Echols made it last year (Echols is sort of outplaying Kelvin thus far IMO).
Corker may make it from this year.
I think the surprise will be Mosely, I think he makes an NFL roster. Really good athlete.
They are gonna lie if they must to protect educational privacy. Real legal exposure is involved.
It's possible. If UK cannot find an analog course at UK, they will at times refuse to recognize the credit. I suppose this could have a cascade effect on eligibility, in that progress toward graduation might be deemed insufficient, even if the athlete is admitted? So, congratulations... you sit until we get your credits up to level???
