With the Cats taking a 2 star Db this morning who was committed to Western Michigan kinda looks like we're not getting Lewis

Justin tweeted something out about rumblings that he has signed with FSU. Doesn't come as a huge surprise, even though I feel like if FSU and Texas had not offered Kentucky would've been the choice.

All the Yahoos on Twitter are saying he's gone to FSU.....So we replaced 2 4* DB's(twins) and missed out on Lewis 4* DB...and are replacing with 2-3 *'s....better hope we win some games this year or recruiting will continue to drop. I have seen this happen plenty of times....

You have never seen Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Auburn etc come in and actually want our commitments or battle us on signing day.

Fighting when it comes to recruiting does not matter if you don't win....We had 2 good years...its VERY clear this is a huge drop from the past 2 classes....have to develop those guys and win next year to have a great class next season. Recruiting has to be consistent and quality....

That's all goo good and well but when you lose a recruit to them its still a lost recruit. I guess its a "moral victory" and im tired of moral victories.

Wouldn't count that as a battle, FSU was waiting to see what Minkah was going to do, as soon as they found out he was no longer an option, they turn the heat up on Lewis and sign him up.

We lead the nation in moral victories. Is there a bowl for that?

Yeah if you look at the big number next to our name. If you look at the individual players, this class has higher quality players than the top 30 class we had two seasons ago.

If you can't tell our 2nd and 3rd options are as good or better than our old (past years) first options, I don't know what to tell you. The ending of this cycle has been extremely disappointing, but it really makes you wonder how these boards survived a few years ago.

My brother and I always stay and listen to Calipari talk to the crowd after the basketball games. While I was listening to Calipari talk last night, I was thinking how different our coaches and our fans think. Our fans are focused on going undefeated. But Calipari could not care less about going undefeated. He just wants our basketball team to learn and get better every week. There is also a disconnect with football. Many fans are hung up on Rivals class rankings. But our coaches are only trying to sign and develop as many contributory players as they can. Some of our fans hang in every commitment and de-commitment, and dissect the wisdom of every play call. But our coaches are focused on trying to fill needs, manage the offseason strength program, prepare, and get better from 1 year to the next. They do their best to sign all the players they want, but they never get all of them. Last year went better than the year before. Next year will go better than last year. I hope Lewis signs with us, but I like what our coaches are trying to do. With or without any 1 particular player.

Nobody even cared about signing day a few years ago. That in itself shows how far we have come. The fact that people are now getting upset about losing 4* recruits shows that we are moving in the right direction as a team and fan base. Used to be we'd get excited about a high 3* guy who would probably be the face of a class now those guys are depth.

Um...you do realize Cal is on record as saying he wants to coach a undefeated team right?? Like most all coaches say....TALENT wins....If we are going to be bottom 3 in SEC in recruiting its better to be 1-2 spots off the top teams as opposed to 20-30 like we normally are. The past 2 classes were much closer to the rest of the pack which allows you to compete. Have to keep recruiting at that level and developing those players or we continue getting blown out like 4 of the last 5 last year.

I would advise everybody to go back over the last couple of years and see how Stoops and staff evaluated talent before the big boys got involved. These guys know talent when they see it and often times, before anybody else does.

With their track record of offering guys with not many offers, only to lose them to Florida, Ohio State, Florida State, etc., I'll trust they know what they're doing with the guys they're now bringing in.

Our defensieve backfield now has 6'1, 6'2, 6'3, and 6'4 commitments. I can live with that. :)

Lastly, the stars by their names don't necessarily predict how good of a college player they'll be. Our top rated recruits might not be as good as our "lower rated" recruits.

The fact that Stoops and staff can evaluate like they can doesn't make me nervous about the guys signing day at all.
