Gonna be funny when the NCAA gives them a post season ban this year.
I bet Moonpie is ordering up a fresh batch of term papers as we speak.
My thoughts on this exactly. There does not seem to be a lot of buzz on it and no real drop in recruiting that I am aware of. That seems to suggest no fear of punishment or much if they get any.I'm not holding my breath on this, but they certainly deserve it (and much, much more).
Dont forget the co-colers.
They have one 4 star and one 3 star in the 2015 class. Two 4 stars in the 2016 class. One player a 5 star in the 2017 class and that guy is a legacy who recently stated he may reopen his recruitment. Do these sound like typical UNC*** classes? The great recruits out of the state of North Carolina have been going to other schools. My thoughts on this exactly. All of the top talent in NC is going elsewhere. You should head over to Pack Pride and check the latest on the scandal. Doesn't look good for UNC. Recruiting is not over yet for the next couple of years. They do not hit on it every year like Cal. This year's team (2015) is ranked #1 in one preseason poll. I don't think they were too concerned about this year, let's wait and see in the next couple of years to see what happens. I believe the relative silence on this recently has quieted some fears. They have one 4 star and one 3 star in the 2015 class. Two 4 stars in the 2016 class. Yes, but we don't always get who we wanted either. So you don't think they wanted guys like Brandon Ingram, Dennis Smith, Jr., or Harry Giles?
Yes, but we don't always get who we wanted too.
You could be right about that but, as I said, until I see the punishment or know for certain it is coming, I am not so convinced that they will fall off enough to take them out of the picture of prominence. I just can't see the NCAA allowing that to happen. They have historically been the main state school, and one of the top 5 programs nationally.
They have had more recent in state talent than at any time in their history.
And none of them are choosing UNC. Got to believe the scandal has a lot to do with that.

Well, admittedly , I have not kept up with it as completely as others because of how long it has taken for the NCAA to act. Most of my stance on this is more in what I think the NCAA might not do and therefore allow them to skate by with little or no repercussions. Since their infractions, there have been others who have already been punished for much lesser infractions committed after UNC committed theirs.I think recruiting has slipped in anticipation of punishment, but you're right, we don't know what the NCAA might do.
I don't see UNC being the best team in college basketball this coming season. I know they return a lot of talent, but its not like we're talking elite talent. The reason they return so much is the fact none of them were good enough to leave early. Don't get me wrong. I do think UNC will be a pretty good team, capable of beating the very best any given day. I just don't think they will have enough shooting to compete for a title. I'm not sold on their defense being elite. They did lose their best defender. I know Paige has a lot of hype built up, but so far I don't see the Why all the hype. Most say he's been playing injured and that might be true. If that's the case, I hope he has an injury free season so I get to see what the fuss is about with this kid.

I don't get why a middling UNC team that historically underachieves is anyone's preseason #1? They will be out of the top 10 by January.
We're talking about a 12 loss team last year ... I don't get it. What has changed so much? Other than they more than likely have became more remedial over the offseason ...
They don't deserve to be #1 based on years of fraud. But let them have itExperience is the reason for UNC being considered a top team. The only question is does blatant cheating matter? Obviously recruits think so.
We went from a 10+ loss team to 38-1, it happens.

I hate the Heels and think it's a travesty they aren't banned from the 2016 tournament after been charged with LOIC.
But they have four very good pieces and a few other decent role players. I'll be nervous y til someone knocks them out of the tournament and they officially enter NCAA purgatory.
