Noel Throwing a Block Party in Philly

one of the greatest competitors i've ever seen in basketball. dives into the stands and defends like the game is on the line in the last three minutes of blowouts. never seen anyone habitually strip the guard on ballscreens the way he does, either

it's a shame that crook colangelo is there now, and that they're probably going to build around that spoiled non-defending brat okafor

as much shit as people give hinkie in the media, had they just taken porzingis, they'd be in pretty good shape. people ridiculed hinkie for taking embiid--nobody taken after has really done anything to suggest they were worth passing on embiid's upside (even though he probably never plays). people ridiculed him for trading below-average nba point guard mc-w for the lakers' pick because kobe & randle would have them pushing for a playoff spot--how's that looking?

goatfoot colangelo comes in and trades two early second rounders for ish smith (has definitely helped nerl, though) so they can win 18 games this year rather than 14, and is universally praised

noel would help any nba team. okafor puts up numbers emptier than my SAT score. but he dribbles through his legs and makes spin moves so basketball simpletons like bilas think he's better than towns

One of my favorite individual performances EVER was Noel's 12 blocks in that one game. I forget who it was against. Maybe one of the Mississippi schools?

I believe it was Ole Miss. What was really impressive was he blocked at least 5 or more shots having 4 fouls.

Also, how great would that 2014 team been with Noel down low on D. IIRC, he reclassified. Granted our 2013 team would have been... really bad without him.

Favorite player Cal has brought in...and that is saying a TON. What a great overall person and tremendous competitor. Like others have already stated, he has the quickest hands I've ever seen on a big(in particular). Glad he is still doing great.

(This post is in no way a MKG diss)

okafor's loser dad heckles brett brown from behind the bench like a little league parent

if noel played with anyone else among the guards cal has brought to uk, he'd have probably scored 2-5 ppg just from catching lobs. harrow was not up to it

I have mentioned it a few times lately, but geez, what if New Orleans had kept him to play center with AD at the power forward instead of trading him away?

Talk about rim protection!!!

Watched some of their game with the Knicks on Monday, he's making strides in his game. Had a beautiful half-hook and pass for a bucket in the 1st half.

So sad that one of his greatest blocks let to a terrible injury (Florida).

I'm so happy to see the flat top fella doing well, even if it is in that hole they call Philly.

philly has the world's strongest sandwich game, and you're a dopey misogynist

hinkie got noel and the tenth pick in the next draft for jrue holiday. seems every time AD is on nbatv that nitwit joel meyer takes a shot at the sixers like they're responsible for his employers' incompetence. giving away robin lopez (perfect goon center to protect AD) and greivis vasquez to bring in ireke evans was another masterstroke

coaching change seems to be working brilliantly as well

maybe hinkie can take over in N O once that slimeball colangelo forces him out

The defensive performance he had against I think Ole Miss with 4 fouls is second to none.

It would have been fun to watch and one of the best frontcourts in the Nba. On defense, good luck trying to score on Davis and Noel in the frontcourt. Noel will never be a 20 ppg scorer, but he's not as bad on offense as many people would make you believe. The crazy thing is, you think these Nba gm would know the game well enough to know that Davis and Noel would have been insane on defense for any frontcourt together and would have took a chance at making it happen. With these guys being Nba gms, i don't know how they missed seeing this.

Noel needs to play the 5 spot. Playing the 4 has killed his blocking ability and the coaching staff in Philly knows it.

Philly either needs to trade him for picks or trade Okafor. Keeping both is stupid.

he and the zinger would have fit together like a glove, conversely. high energy athletes who compete and run and zinger's shooting would help space the floor, opening it up for noel's ideal offensive role as a diver

okafor is a poor passer and he brings ball movement to a grinding halt. no doubt he's a terrible, lazy defender, but i'm not sure he even helps you on offense
