I jumped to conclusions and I shouldn't have. I was wrong plain and simple and I apologize.

Thats mighty blue of you. ; )

I never had a doubt that our guys were innocent. That's mainly from experience of knowing (since about 1986) Richmond bars and the trouble that happens there especially between EKU players and others.

And for your penance ..... you will be flogged and hammered on the Wildcat Lair-football forum.
My god have mercy on your soul.

I must say I am not surprised you jumped to a conclusion in this matter. It is what you do.

Our kids certainly aren't "innocent" and absolutely need to grow up. There is no denying that the whole thing happened. I'm just glad that everyone was able to work it out without anyone screwing up their careers/futures. Our guys and EKU's guys need to take this as a learning experience and just never let it happen again. I understand completely that college kids are going to fight and act stupid. Hell, I wouldn't expect less. I don't necessarily think it makes any of them bad people. Lets all just be glad it's all water under the bridge.

Exactly right RMP, the kid getting hurt was bad enough, but it could have been much worse, regardless if he started it, everyone involved was a kid with their entire lives and careers ahead of them. But the reality is it could have been any school's kids involved, everyone knows we have certainly had our issues with arrest. But looks like we are going to make it through spring practice without one this year, G-Day and 2 days next week, hopefully we get thought Sat night without one, lol.

But back to the UK kids, luckily no one was really seriously hurt, no one was shot which is a real possibility in todays world and maybe these kids see how lucky they were to not be in some serious trouble. I mean lucky the kid wasn't blinded or worse, beating someone's rear, which is what appears happened is one thing, but taking it to the next step is entirely different which didn't happen. But I really think it was poor judgement after that incident to go on the EKU campus, regardless of their intentions of helping the young lady get home. Maybe they learned from it, I imagine Barker is starting to worry Stoops some, wondering if he is going to grow out of that, wouldn't it be a crock if he was named starter and got involved is some silly thing and get suspended for a couple of games? That has to be on Stoops's mind and could be a factor in his decision who is number 1.

Grumpy, lets remind ourselves what Drew has not been involved in, no drugs, no rape or female violence, no theft, no police chasing him down the highway. Air guns, using someone else's card to get in a bar, and a fight. I believe your GA boys in the past have gotten into way more then what Drew has gotten into. He's a choir boy compared to most in the SEC when it comes to REAL trouble.

He would be laughed out of town in Knoxville, and probably Louisville also. Of course you don't hear too much about their troubles, and even when the eight thugs that should have been facing attempted murder charges were caught redhanded none of them even got a parking ticket.

Not going to go back and forth with someone who knows nothing about me.

That is foolish to make an assumption before you have all the facts.

Potex I thought I mentioned our guys have had their share of bad decisions, I don't have any facts on this but we probably lead the conference in dismisals. We had 2 dismisals starting at qb for 2 SEC west teams a couple years ago, thief and sexual assault guys. We will have a dope smoker starting at UofL this year, had an ex 5* at South Alabama year before last who played RB in the NFL last season, a DT who was recently dismissed from Bama again for DV, another who will start at AU in their secondary this fall. Those are just the ones at the top of my head, everyone of those guys were highly recruited and anyone in the SEC would have gladly signed them, so yes I am as aware as anyone our Georgia boys find trouble as much any in the conference. Not proud of it, but it is what it is, Athens Clark County cops don't protect UGA football players like some towns do, they get arrested and their name is front page of the Atlanta paper digital edition within an hour. I don't claim they are making the best decisions, we even give drug test the night the kids get back from spring break, they fail, its one game, 4 games or the road. Third time for any combination of offenses and they gone, so no matter how minor or silly, if Drew was at UGA he would have been dismissed after the fight. Richt is very forgiving, he will stand behind them on the first 2, but the third one gets them booted. The one exception is lying to him, you gone on the first one if you do that, that's what happened to Mettenburger who was qb at LSU and with the Titans, and his mother works in our athletic office of all things.

I understand boys will be boys, but playing with toy guys in the dark is just not smart today, I don't care if its Drew Barker or Nick Chubb. How often do we hear about people getting shot by a cop and have a toy gun, once is too many times. Going on to a campus where you have just whipped one of their football players, to their dorm even, how smart is that, I am sure they are good kids but that was asking for more trouble in my mind regardless of their intentions. Maybe they didn't think it was a big deal and as it turns out nothing really happened, but its going behind enemy lines, in my opinion and something that had potential to turn bad in a hurry, luckily it didn't. Alcohol and women have made young men 10 feet tall and bullet proof since we started recording time and very likely will continue until our history ends. I wasn't meaning UK is the only program that has kids who make dumb decisions, they aren't. And that night in Richmond the UK kids didn't use their best judgement, there will be a night soon at UGA that one or more of our guys doesn't make the best decision again and I won't hide from it if someone here ask what I think about it.
