Duke would be in trouble if K hadn't convinced Thornton to reclassify. (K is ruining basketball).

If it really wasn't an issue he wouldn't say that. [winking]
Boom! He doth protest too much methinks. Why does he feel the need to say that? He's saying it because he knows it did affect him. Of course it did, you could see it on his face in the second half when he mishandled that ball at midcourt and sprawled out across the court while UK went down for another layup.

But the fact is this- the best pg on that team is Thornton. He will be starting soon. Grayson Allen may be coming off the bench. And the truth is, if you're a Duke fan that's what you want. If Allen is your primary ball handler and your primary scorer, you're in huge trouble.

What an insufferable player he's turning into. I love his derped face when he was surprised he couldn't drive on real talent.

This kid is a fraud. He only torched Wisconsin, for less than 10 minutes no less, because they had no scouting on him. They had no idea what to expect. Not to mention every drive in was a Duke foul.

Yeah, Wisconsin was like, "who is this kid and who does he think he is?" Scouting report today says he likes to go right and on drives he likes to hold the ball out like he's a waiter carrying a pizza to a table, daring anyone to block it.

"Allen was held to six points on 2-for-11 shooting, and the Blue Devils lost 74-63 to No. 2 Kentucky in the Champions Classic on Tuesday night."

He went from a star to a cupcake stat stuffer. His whole identity got flipped. He went from the Duke Guards are better than the Kentucky guards to the Duke guards were overrated.

I thought he played terribly. He forced a lot. Going into the lane and lobbing it over the trees hoping for a foul over and over--I kinda thought this was his "I'm going to show the NBA guys what I can do" game. And we've seen it.

I think he's better than this version. But, he has to learn to play within the team to some extent. I appreciate the notion that if no one is scoring, you've got to create--but if you're going 2/11, you're doing something wrong. Let someone else miss.

It is fun to joke about Duke fans who thought he was an All American after playing two garbage teams, but the kid will end up really good, assuming he learns to drive left. He's crazy athletic and he'll start winning some of those rim battles when he gets a little less predictable. Might be a couple years, though.

The relentless Duke hype machine was already geared up to promote him as the POY in college ball and he gets handed his arse by our freshmen and up-staged by the real best sophomore on the floor - and legit POY candidate - Ulis.

Well his acting makes Chris Jones look like an amateur ,other than that ,the only answer K and the floppers had for Kentucky was to try and foul them all out, because they couldn't hang any other way, typical Duke - UNC approach, they know they can't win straight up so get those guys off the court, been doing it for decades

I told my wife ol Dicky V is heartbroken he's having a crappy game because you know he was ready to slurp all over him

He looked like he was gonna cry trying to shoot free throws, he got abused by our bigs and the refs weren't bailing him out, coach k didn't look to happy either[thumb2]

I was shocked the officials didn't bail him out more. Very pleased that they seemed to not fall for the snap back of the head. I hope they call it the same way in march/april if we play them again.

I want to know why Seth isn't interviewing one of our kids. They won the game, not Duke.

I honestly believe we will be set up to play them again - you know how the NCAA loves a story.

And no, maybe it wasn't a hit to Allen's confidence, but it was to his coaching staff and his fanbase. If he is that arrogant to NOT say hey - found out I have a lot to work on here, and will do so - then that is not a good look for his team.

Of course he could have said it, I didn't read the article

He can say what he wants but I believe his confidence was shaken in that game. He realized he wasn't playing Siena or Bryant after having a couple of his shots swatted and getting beat on the defensive end too. It might not have any long-term effects but he realized in that game he was playing against someone better than him.

Krzyzewski said after the game something to the effect that his team was just flat and not not ready to compete. They seemed pretty confident early but not being able to score on anything but put-backs for the first 7-8 minutes shook the confidence of all of their younger players. They've got a good team and will have a good season. Tuesday night we were just better.

He's already flopping at senior level, that's for sure. He's got Chris Jones flopping skills.

I still can't believe people were trying to say Duke's guards were better than ours...epic fail
