NIT rescinds invite…

South Alabama has its NIT bid rescinded because UC Riverside at first declined their invitation, but later wanted it back cause they got out of playing in a different tournament. Now South Alabama has to tell those kids their season is over…

To accept or decline an invite should not be reversible. It isn't fair to other schools, teams and their fans. The NIT should at least make a play in between the two schools.

What a monumental screw up by the NIT. Its just unacceptable.

This actually happened to me in grad school more or less. I was offered an assistantship teaching mythology to pay my way through school. I accepted. But like two days before classes started I was told a more worthy student asked for that assistantship and was given it. Oh well.
