For the second straight year Nike is hosting a camp the same weekend at the Under Armour Elite 24 game, which used to be a big deal.
Nike continues to steal some of the top players that would normally go play in the Elite 24 game, and not surprisingly those guys played in the Nike EYBL Circuit.
The list of players expect to go:
Mohamed Bamba
Trae Young
Quade Green
P.J. Washington
Jarred Vanderbilt (unclear if he'll participate in basketball activities)
Lonnie Walker
Wendell Carter Jr.
Troy Brown
Gary Trent Jr.
Here are the rosters for the Elite 24 game
Team DRIVE
Trevon Duval 2017
Javonte Smart 2018
Hamidou Diallo 2017 (UK target)
Nickeil Alexander-Walker 2017
Louis King 2018
Khavon Moore 2018
Jaylen Hoard 2018
Nazreon Reid 2018 (UK target)
Silvio De Souza 2018
Zion Williamson 2018 (UK target)
Brandon McCoy 2017
Moses Brown 2018
Team CLUTCH
Jalek Felton 2017
Jahvon Quinerly 2018
Devon Dotson 2018 (UK target)
Josh Anderson 2017
MJ Walker 2017
Billy Preston 2017
Gerald Liddell 2018
Kevin Knox 2017 (UK target)
Sid Wilson 2018
Nick Richards 2017 (UK target)
Austin Wiley 2017
Bol Bol 2018 (possible UK target)
So, there's a healthy dose of UK targets in both games. I always find it interesting in who decides to play in which game.
Most 2018 targets don't have a choice. But the 2017 targets certainly do. I think for some of the guys, they maybe just don't want to take a trip to the Bahamas. It's been a long summer and that's another long trip for most of the ones who decided to stay in the states.
Kevin Knox's decision is interesting, with the Bahamas likely being closer, so I'm not too sure what to make of his decision. But the ones going to Brooklyn don't intrigue me as much as the ones who decided to go to the Bahamas.
Nearly all those guys have been Nike through and through. Will that continue to college? Most of the guys seem to be down to nearly all Nike choices, so it may not matter, but I find it interesting nonetheless.
Be on the lookout for some high school basketball this weekend. The Elite 24 game will be on ESPNU and I believe it starts at 7:30
