Nigel Glover visiting UK tomorrow

To fill in a little more info here, Nigel Glover is a 6'3" 215# hybrid LB/S/nickel back who signed in NWern's 2023 recruiting class. He is from Clayton, OH, and was the #7 overall player in the state of OH in 2023. Coach Marrow previously recruited him unsuccessfully at Northport hs. NWern's long time football coach Pat Fitzgerald was recently fired, so some NWern players are bolting now. AFAIK, this visit to UK is the only visit Glover has scheduled, but that could be wrong. It is being reported on TOS that MI is inviting him now for a visit, but MI did not previously attempt to recruit him at Northport hs. That means MI would have to build a new relationship, whereas Glover already knows Coach Marrow. In any case, a visit to Ann Arbor is not currently scheduled AFAICT. I am not an expert on Glover's game, but I know enough about him to know that he would make an immediate impact on our defensive depth chart. Has anyone seen him play?

Michigan is jockeying for a visit too, although one has not been scheduled at this time. Things could change going forward.

Just his film. Apparently played SS a lot in HS, though most project him at Will LB in college Showed good play awareness and closing speed. Very sure tackler, especially in open field. Good looking prospect. Definitely not a college Safety but think sideline to sideline LB with pass covering capabilities.

Did he play for northwestern a lot this year or was he freshman this year

Reports now have Glover visiting both Michigan and Michigan St. . We’ll see. I still like our chances here.

I do too. Coach Marrow recruited Glover at Northmont hs, so they already have an established relationship. MI and MI St will have to build new relationships with him since they haven't recruited him before. That doesn't guarantee we get him, but it has to help. OTOH, what could hurt us is that UK starters D'Eryk Jackson and Trevin Wallace have two more seasons of eligibility. So if Glover sees himself exclusively as an ILB in the 3-3-5, we could lose him if he doesn't see enough PT for himself here. But he will have to compete wherever he goes. So at the end of the day, I still like our chances.

Buckeyes jumping in now.

If OH St really wants him, that changes things because he would be going home.

Yeah, canceling his Mich St visit to go to Columbus doesn't sound great for Stoops and Co. In addition, I read that 2 of OSU's top LB recruits for the 2024 class just committed elsewhere, so now adding Glover would offset that loss as well.

Probably just means they don't have to over recruit LB in '25 vs offsetting anything. If he RS, he'll have the same eligibility as the '24s they didn't get.

Glovers high school coach said that he was raving about his UK visit. Mentioned the coaches and facilities. He said when he returned he was super excited with how well his visit went. He said that Glover is on top of what the schools have to offer mentioning the players already there and where he would fit in as an example. Said he is one of those players that loves to practice also, and a lot of players aren't like that.

Hope UK convinced him that this is the place for him.

I am sure Glover was impressed by his visit to Kentucky's team and campus, because our staff knows how to recruit. They are good at this. Glover will be impressed by his other visits too because he is visiting quality teams and smart coaches. This will come down to where he feels like he can play and contribute. He could be a good add for us because we could use another downhill linebacker. I hope that is enough to convince him because it would be tough to come in August and win a starting job this year.

So we have an absolutely not, and a maybe yes
I had heard it was OSU or UM but it turned out to be coming from UM/MSU sources. Turns out b4 the OSU visit it was actually OSU and UK out in front. OSU offered a grey shirt and he said no. He took his UM visit and should know something soon

UM insiders saying it is OSU. I guess they found him a scholship instead of a grey shirt
