Stoops just stated that he is no longer with the team. No reason given. Also stated that Therell and Jovan won't make it.
Did you mean to say Levon (sp?) Livingston instead of Jovan? It's a shame these guys won't make it.
Surprised that Richardson would leave the team - unless there were underlying academic/personal reasons, perhaps he realized he would be deep on the depth chart. Good luck to him whatever he decides to do.
Livingston is two, if not three years away from playing on the OL.We are really screwed if Livingston doesn't make it. We will have next to no depth at OT with Krok and Richardson leaving.
this could significantly hurt our season.

No it won't. He likely wasn't going to see the field this year anyway. It sucks but its hardly a reason to jump off a cliff.

Thank you for saving me the time of writing something very similar.I think people are just looking at his Rivals star ranking (not his 3 star ranking from everyone else.) If we had to play that kid this year it would have been a disaster. RS Freshman at 285 pounds which is exactly what he came in weighing, that got beat out by a true freshman coming into spring practice is not someone that you want on that field this year. Take another look at his highlight film, and compare that to George Asafo-Adjei or Krok or Willis'...
Good luck to him, if it is homesickness or the coaches gave him a visual of where he stood on the team, I hope he succeeds, actually puts on weight and becomes an NFL player someday.

reports on twitter he is not on roster given out today? late summer academic casualty?
I agree. Richardson had been passed by several players including GAA. What little evidence we have suggests Richardson did not work as hard as some other linemen over the offseason. That won't get it on this team, where competition determines roles. We already have 22 commitments in our 2016 recruiting class which means, even with Gossier and Provitt not here, at least 4 underclassmen still had to go. And as more commitments are taken, that number will only increase further. So some players were expected to leave, or else Stoops would not be accepting so many new commitments. The problem is, our offensive line is the most talent challenged and depth challenged area on our team now. You can't win in our league without a big, deep, good offensive line. The starting unit is pretty much set, and Richardson wasn't going to play much. But with Richardson and Krok gone, we are totally dependent now on Leavitt, GAA, and Meadows at the 2 offensive tackle positions in 2016. Young and Stenberg won't be ready for several years, and it looks like Livingston might not even make it at all. Injuries and other unexpected developments can happen. Offensive tackle is proving to be the toughest position on the field for Stoops to fill. There are still a couple of interesting, uncommitted juco offensive tackles, including Demetri Moore. I hope Coach Brumbaugh is all over him.I think people are just looking at his Rivals star ranking (not his 3 star ranking from everyone else.) The only thing that seems certain with Richardson is that his reasoning was not academic. My initial thought was that Stoops was just trimming the fat and trying to push some guys out to make room for new guys, but with everybody saying how thin UK is at OL it makes me think he might have just been unhappy with his situation and wanted to make a fresh start somewhere else similar to Josh Krok.
Demetri Moore is an uncommitted offensive tackle at Mississippi Delta CC with a Kentucky offer. Malcolm Pridgeon, an offensive tackle at Nassau CC, also has a Kentucky offer. It looks like Kentucky's main competition for Moore is the 2 Mississippi schools. Pridgeon has offers from Ohio State and 4 SEC schools. With Krok and Richardson gone, Livingston probably gone, Swindle being a senior, I hope Stoops pushes hard for both jucos. Getting Tate Leavitt is the most important part of the solution. But even with Leavitt, we will be very thin at both offensive tackles in 2016. Meadows looks like a good young player, but competition makes players better. GAA is competing at tackle, but he is a natural guard. If Leavitt or Meadows gets hurt, we would be in trouble. We could really use Pridgeon or Moore.we are thin at tackle but we are loaded at guard and center. gaa will end up at guard once we get tackle settled too. he has been moved inside and with marcelys coming in and drake and fortner... he wasn't gonna play after this year. krok hurt leaving us but unfortunately i dont think richardson was gonna help.
Meh, looks like Stoops will do the same thing if a guy isn't giving it everything he has."Push some guys out"...you're confused. Richardson was at UK not UT.
