Shockingly enough, I think will be as good of a defensive team as this years team. We got hot out of the gate this past year guarding teams. As the year went on we got more lazy, by the time we played Notre Same we weren't pressuring the ball, switching every screen, not fighting through them. Now, you have Skal, Lee on the inside, long shot, but possibly Maker. Not many teams will score in there on us. Then, Alex is our best overall athlete, and on ball defender. I think he would've held Decker in check this year. What we will have on the floor next year are guys that will play hard not in spurts but the whole game and season. I really hope we press and trap full court, or trap in the half court.

I think we will see a little of everything early on until Cal figures out his team as he likes to say. But yes, don't expect to see the press (other than brief amounts of situational use) with this years team. As of now, the personnel, experience and depth of the current roster doesn't scream out a pressing team imo

Don't think so. Losing KAT + WCS will be killer. Both had their flaws, but the duo together on the court were dynamic.

Skal maybe able to protect the rim, but he won't have someone cleaning up his mistakes, like KAT had in WCS & vice versa.

Lee is a bad defender. Poythress is a great perimeter defender, but defending around the rim isn;t his specialty.

Disagree a little. No way to replace the height UK had last year that completely overwhelmed teams. I think UK will be a much better offensive team. Last year's team was ok offensively but not dominant. If they had been, #9 would be hanging in Rupp.
